Steady Beat Maracas

Grade Level Vocabulary First and Second Grade

Tambourine Triangle Hand Drum Volume Loud/Soft Crescendo Decrescendo

Welcome to another great year in music! We are off to a very tuneful start. So far we have reviewed many of the skills we have learned in previous years, except for first grade, who is off and running! This year all the grades will be really working towards mastering the state standards in music. Just like in all the other academic subjects, the students have goals they must meet in each grade level. Singing is one of the first standards listed. We have talked about expectations for each grade level and I can proudly say so far each grade level has shown great effort. We will also be playing instruments from all of the families. We will develop technical skills and mastery with each instrument that is appropriate for their developmental level. We will also be exploring our musical skills through movement, dance, and singing games.
