    Most superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) used in diapers, period care, and incontinence products are petroleum-based polyacrylics. While effective, they raise concerns about microplastic persistence and dependence on non-renewable inputs. For engineers and product developers, this creates a challenge: how to maintain absorbency and comfort while reducing environmental impact.
