Legal framework for electronic signatures in Japan¶

일본에서 전자 서명은 2000년 5월 31일 관보에 발표된 전자 서명 및 인증 사업에 관한 법률 (전자 서명법) 에 따라 규제됩니다. 이 법률은 전자 서명의 사용 및 법적 인정에 위한 기반을 제공합니다. 전자 서명법의 주요 내용은 다음과 같습니다.

• Legal recognition: electronic signatures are legally equivalent to handwritten signatures if they meet certain criteria.

• Reliability and security: electronic signatures must be created with a secure method that can reliably identify the signatory and ensure the integrity of the signed document.

• Certification Businesses (CBs): the law recognizes electronic signatures supported by digital certificates issued by accredited CBs.
