Razor (2007)
Razor started out as a self-parody of the Slasher Sub-Genre, filled with clichés that fans of Slashers immediately understand, but almost all of them turn out to have twists, that also only Horror Fans can find amusing. The movie was meant to be a shocking suspenseful thriller, but last-minute changes turned the movie into a GOREFEST, full with blood and torturing. Many of the original scenes could not be shot, because we had to move to another location exactly the day we have planed to shoot everything. Any previous plans and storyboards had to be replaced and the new mansion was way smaller, no real garden, no nice exterior shots were possible anymore, so the movie lost much of the needed plot and suspense. There was a whole sub-plot story about the murderer, about the relationships between the couples and the combinations they were having during sex, and basically the movie was filled with extra amount of bloody shots, more special effects and became very claustrophobic. because there was no real way to connect the torturing room with the rest of the house. The upper floor was a different house elsewhere and was shot later.
The most important thing about RAZOR is the meaning of the title. It goes way back to one girl's childhood, while she was constantly sexually abused by her own father. One night she has put a razor blade between her legs, that caused an awful wound to her father's member. His scream woke up the mother, who has witnessed the act for the first time and took the law on her hands. That story will this year be explored as the first VIRTUAL REALITY SLASHER THRILLER, in RAZOR VR 360°. It's not a remake, not a sequel, it's a fresh new start for a great story and for a great type of killer, that will satisfy every horror fan out there...
