The Next Stage (short)
Adam's dreams of becoming a successful actor seem to be within reach when he is cast by a rising star director Richard Bateman, in the play "A Streetcar Named Desire". Playing the role of Stanley, Adam must bring out intense emotion beyond what had ever been required of him before. Pushed to his limits and beyond by Bateman, his own desire for success blurs the lines between home and stage. In his quest to understand Stanley he finds a connection to him in ways that tear at his relationship with his supportive girlfriend, Liz. In the ultimate test of character he must decide between his two passions, the love of his life and the love of acting. We see through Adam how positive desires and goals unbridled can lead us into difficult waters where once clear priorities are powerfully challenged.
