In third century Syria, a slave girl rejected by her vigilante master captures the eye of his uncle, the king, when she crashes the royal court and becomes an overnight heroine. Catapulted to royalty and protected by her mother's ghost, she defies Syria's most powerful woman and threatens Rome's horrible emperor, her unknowing father.
