This movie was bit of a disappointment because I liked the first movie, but this sequel was a radical change. I knew beforehand that the movie had bad reviews and ratings and I can see why because the musical aspect of it was not something most people like me wanted to see. I didn't mind the musical stuff at the beginning, but I thought it was going to annoying if they carried on throughout the movie and it did. The writers and producers were trying to be clever with this movie, but they should've known most people weren't going to like it as most of them were fans of the first movie, so making it a musical wasn't going to go down well. If they had removed all the musical stuff it still probably wouldn't have been received well because the plot was nothing special, but it definitely wouldn't have flopped in the box office as hard as it did.

We need less movies to be made. It's a waste of money
31 January 2025
I knew before watching the movie that it had mixed reviews, but still decided to watch it because I had seen the first movie which I liked and the second movie which I thought was average. Unfortunately just like the second movie I felt this was average as well which I expected to be honest. The plot felt like not much thought had been put in it and felt it was made to accommodate the action scenes which it was relying on to carry the movie. To be honest the action scenes were decent, but you need a good story along with it. We need less movies, especially superhero movies because it's getting boring now and there's no originality in them anymore due to the amount of them Hollywood keeps pumping out.

I think I've had enough of superhero movies
24 January 2025
I wasn't crazy about the first two Deadpool movies, I thought they were decent and that's the same case for this movie. The plot was just your standard Marvel movie plot I guess, however the humour is what made the movie easier and less boring to watch for me similarly to the first two movies. The issue is I've seen many Marvel and other superhero movies, so I feel like I've seen it all and nothing excites me anymore. This is not just an issue with superhero movies, but most other movie genres as well where most of the movies being released are not new ideas. I would say watch the first Deadpool movie and if you like it then you should watch the other two.

How are these types of movies still getting released in cinemas and making a lot of money?
17 January 2025
I took a year break from watching movies because I had enough of them as I felt most movies I had seen are just remakes of each other with no originality and that's the same case for this movie. This is just your typical, average action comedy movie with a basic plot and over the top action scenes which were decent I guess. I'm surprised that these types of movies are still getting made because I feel like it's a waste of money as there is many 100's of the same or better action comedy movies. I guess it is because they are still making lot's of money from cinemas which is baffling to me. I guess cinema isn't dying anytime soon when people want to make a day of it going to the cinema to watch mediocre movies.
Oppenheimer
(I) (2023)
Thank you Nolan

This is one of those long movies that don't feel long because of how good it is. I don't know much about the Manhattan project and Robert Oppenheimer, but I felt like the movie gave me a bit more understanding of the implications that the atomic bomb had on Oppenheimer and the world. The plot was intriguing for the majority of the duration, however I did feel less intrigued during parts of the last 40 or so minutes of the movie. I thought the acting was amazing and felt no one did a bad job portraying their characters. I'm glad I was given an insight of the type of person Oppenheimer was and how he conducted himself during and after the project; may he rest in peace.
Airplane!

Not a fan of that type of humour
17 November 2023
I kind of regret watching this movie even though it was quite a short movie because I didn't it enjoy it much. Five minutes in I knew it wasn't my type of movie because I found most of the humour too cheesy and cringe for my liking. There were certain parts of the movie which I liked and thought was funny like the scenes involving the black guys speaking 'jive' which felt relatable even today because black people have mannerisms which most white people might not understand. I feel like if this type of movie was made today it wouldn't be well received and not make much money as it did back then which shows that times have changed.
Three Men and a Baby
(1987)
Not realistic, but it was fun at times
10 November 2023
It's definitely a unique and interesting concept about three guys who live together that have to look after a baby without any idea of what to do. The first ten or so minutes of the movie were a bit boring, but it got more interesting when the baby shows up on the doorstep. One thing which annoyed me was that the guys didn't get absolutely livid with Sylvia about her leaving the baby alone in a public place where anyone could've taken her. What also annoyed me was that they trusted her to take back the baby considering the fact that she dumped the baby like it was a package. Overall it was a fun movie for the most part, but the unrealism made me like it less.

There's something about these older superhero movies that I don't find intriguing for some reason; I feel like the plots are just basic and there's not enough character development. I felt the plot was rushed and there was no context at times, for example when Bruce and Vicki go on a date after just having a brief incounter with each other the previous day where there was no tension between them. I couldn't tell if the movie was trying to be dark or not because although I did like the portrayal of the joker, I felt it was a bit extravagant for a dark movie. I also felt I wanted to see more from Bruce Wayne as I felt he didn't have any memorable moments and have a real impact in the movie.
Downfall
(2004)
Decent
27 October 2023
It was my first time watching a foreign language movie and I had seen clips from this movie before including the memes, so I decided to watch the full movie and it did not disappoint. I have read and seen documentaries about the last days of world war 2, but it was good to see it in movie form especially seeing what it was like in the bunker with Hitler and everyone else who lived there. There's not much action in the movie as it primarily focuses on what's happening inside the bunker, but it was still thrilling and intriguing to watch. One downside is that it was probably a bit longer than I would've liked, but other than that it's a decent movie.
Joy Ride
(2023)
They over did it with the explicit stuff
20 October 2023
The movie started off okay and I was intrigued with the story about an Asian American going back to China to find her birth mom, but as it went on it started to get less and less interesting. I know it's a comedy movie, but I felt the jokes were overused and not funny enough where I actually laughed out loud. A few sexual jokes here and there would've been okay, but there was too many of them which made the characters look like they were trying too hard to be funny. I felt the movie became too ridiculous towards the end with all the k-pop stuff which I found cringey and unnecessary. Also wasn't a fan of the 4 main characters who I thought were too weird.
No Hard Feelings
(2023)
It had potential to be better
13 October 2023
I have mixed feelings towards the plot of the movie because I found it a bit weird and unrealistic for parents to pay a girl to take their sons virginity, but I did like them together and was rooting for them to do the deed. I'd say the around the first 50 minutes of the movie was intriguing and pretty decent, but after that I felt parts of the story was not as interesting as it could've been and it could've been more well written. Although the conclusion wasn't predictable, I felt like the movie ended on an unsatisfying note and in the end I didn't care for the 2 main characters anymore which is a shame.
Not terrible, but it became less interesting as it went on
29 September 2023
The movie was a bit better than I expected because it did start off well with Indiana once again up against the Germans in the third reich time period, but for me that was where the movie peaked as the story became less interesting as it went on. The movie did become a bit more intriguing when they time travelled back to the Roman empire time period which was kind of cool to see, but the damage was already done as most of the movie was just generic. I also wasn't a fan of the character Helena who I felt was unreliable and unlikeable. I even didn't like Teddy as I felt he wasn't charismatic enough and felt like he wasn't needed in the story. On the plus side at least it was better than the Crystal Skull.
Insomnia
(2002)
Pretty decent
22 September 2023
I thought I had seen all of Christopher Nolan's best rated movies, but I came across this which I hadn't seen before and decided to watch it. I felt the beginning of the movie wasn't really intriguing and I was getting worried that it wasn't going to be a movie that I was going to like, but thankfully it got better as it went on. I liked the story of a perpetrator trying to team up with a detective after he has something on him which I felt was portrayed well by Nolan. The acting by two main characters Al Pacino and Robin Williams was really good as I thought they portrayed their characters very well.
What a weird little man Martin is
15 September 2023
First of all there's a lot of questionable things about the movie such as how man like him is able to get a gun in the UK because you have to be a serious person to get one which Martin definitely isn't. Also it was hard to believe that a weak and badly out of shape person like him was even able to move bodies into his van. It's also funny how there were no witnesses and authorities present in the movie which allowed no chance for Maritin to be caught. The movie was definitely more gruesome than the previous movie, but that was only after around 55 minutes into the movie. I felt like the black and white made the movie seem less gruesome and made the victims not seem real for me because it definitely would've been a bit harder to watch those scenes in colour.
I felt the plot became less interesting after halfway in the movie
8 September 2023
I've known about this movie, but never thought of watching it until today and honestly it was not quite as disturbing as I expected. The plot was intriguing from the beginning, but I felt like after maybe 50 or so minutes into the movie it got less interesting for me probably because I had already seen the disturbing stuff in the movie which I got used to and I felt it wasn't going to get even more disturbing which I was right about. The gruesome stuff didn't freak me out, but it did made me kind of not want to think about what those 3 poor characters were going to through. Even though I didn't like the movie that much, I still want to watch the sequel only because I read on Wikipedia it is more gruesome; I feel like I'm going to regret watching it.

Regret watching this
1 September 2023
I only watched this movie because it was in an article about the best horror movies of all time, but it wasn't even good or scary. The whole movie was weird to me, but it was especially weird in the beginning where the story is portrayed in such a slow and depressing way which didn't intrigue me and made me not want to carry on watching the movie. The middle part of the movie was a little bit better, but still not great. The last 20 or so minutes of the movie was just ridiculous and it cemented the ridiculousness of the whole movie. I regret reading that article because it also reccomended the previous horror movie I watched which I also didn't like.
Mother!

What the heck did I just watch?
25 August 2023
This movie was so frustrating to watch and it made me really angry because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I watched this movie because it was in an article about the top scariest movies of all time, but it wasn't even scary. I was so angry with the husband because I felt like he was such a pushover and a weirdo for letting all these people he doesn't even know into his home and those people are acting like total idiots in the house like it's their own. The writer of this movie is a weirdo who shouldn't have been allowed to make the movie; he was trying to be clever making such an obscure movie that will end up being popular, but I'm glad it flopped at the box office. I wish I didn't read that article because I could've went my whole life without watching this dirty excuse for a movie.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
(1974)
The plot was not as intriguing as I wanted it to be
18 August 2023
I thought the plot was very basic and there wasn't enough character development; like I didn't even know Sally and Franklin were siblings until I read about it on Wikipedia after watching the movie. I also felt the story was slow paced especially during the first half of the movie which at that point I realised the movie isn't going to be great. I didn't find the movie scary, however I did flinch when Leatherface came out of nowhere in the dark. I'm guessing this was a good movie for it's time and probably unique from other horror movies of that era, but these types of movies won't work today as you can see by the numerous sequels and remakes from this franchise.
Fast X
(2023)
It was okay, but the franchise has been milked too much
11 August 2023
To be honest I've been sick of the franchise after Fast 8, but for some reason I feel like I have to watch because I feel like I'll be missing out. I thought the story was intriguing and probably better than Fast 9, but it's nothing unique from the other movies. The open ending was kind of interesting as I don't think it's been done in the franchise before, however it means that there is going to be another movie which is just annoying because this should've been the last movie in the franchise. The action scenes were good as always, but some of them defy logic which was not surprising because there's certain scenes like that in previous movies as well.
The Exorcist
(1973)
It was okay, but why was the story so slow paced?
4 August 2023
I don't know if that's how storytelling was in movies from that era, but I felt like it was very slow paced and some of the scenes didn't make much sense or weren't needed like the Iraq scene which caught of guard as I didn't expect the muslim call to prayer to be the first thing to hear from the movie. The movie got more intriguing in the second half when the priests start to get involved and the possession gets worse. I didn't find the possession scary, but I still found it interesting seeing the different types of weird stuff that was happening. It's a shame that the story wasn't as intriguing as I wanted it to be because every other aspect of the movie was pretty spot on.
Paranormal Activity 4
(2012)
Could've been better, but it's a fourth movie of a franchise what do you expect?
28 July 2023
I think for this movie to have been a success it had to be different from the previous 3 movies in terms of the story and the scares, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I thought the plot was decent and it felt intriguing mostly thanks to Kathryn Newton who I thought portrayed her character very well, but I felt the ending was anticlimactic because it felt rushed and kind of similar to the previous movies. Although I did find most of the plot intriguing, I felt like it could have been better written as it didn't feel linked to the previous movies for the most part and I would've liked Katie to have had a bigger role in the movie or more insight of what happened to her after the events of the first movie.
Paranormal Activity 3
(2011)
Better than the second movie thankfully
21 July 2023
I was expecting this movie to be better than the second movie considering it has better reviews and it was. Before watching the movie I wasn't sure if I was going to like the story or find it interesting considering it is set 18 years before the events of the first 2 movies which I was skeptical about. The movie was similar to the first movie as in it had likable characters and their story was really interesting. I thought the paranormal activities were good and did make be flinch a bit just like in the first movie. I also thought it was a good concept of having the 2 children experience most of the paranormal activities.
Paranormal Activity 2
(2010)
Not as good as the first movie
14 July 2023
I thought the movie was mediocre because I felt like the story was not that intriguing. What I liked about the first movie is that even in the scenes which didn't include any paranormal activities, I was still intrigued because I felt the story was keeping me interested. That wasn't really the case for this movie because I felt like certain parts of the story were uninteresting and felt forced. Also I felt like Kristi was not portrayed well because I felt she should've had more of a bigger role in the movie and she wasn't likeable. Overall I felt the story was not as good as it could've been and the paranormal activities were not as good as in the first movie.
Paranormal Activity
(2007)
Didn't expect this movie to have mixed reviews
7 July 2023
I've known about this movie, but avoided watching it because I thought it would cause me to not sleep properly considering the way it was filmed. It's a very simply made low budget movie which manages to be really intriguing just by the anticipation of what paranormal activities are going to take place. I thought the couple were likable and felt they portrayed their characters well considering they don't have much acting experience. I didn't find the movie scary, but I did flinch a couple of times towards the end. I'm surprised the movie has got mixed reviews considering how big of a franchise it ended up creating and I feel like most of the negative reviews are a bit harsh.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
(2023)
It's not up there with the best animated movies, but it's decent
30 June 2023
I don't think I would've watched this if it hadn't have grossed over 1 billion which I still don't know why or how it did. So the plot is pretty straightforward and easy to follow which should be expected because it is a kid's movie after all. What I liked about the plot was the Princess had a powerful role in the movie rather than a vulnerable one like in the video games. What I also liked about the plot is that it stayed true to the video games whether that's from the action scenes or to the music. I've given the movie a 7 which I've rated as a kid's movie; if this movie was made to be targeted to adults then it probably be a 6 or maybe even a 5.
