Some people have complained that the film is not objective, I think they're missing the point.
The point of this documentary is to capture the essence of that time. What our parents and grandparents had endured and how they faced up to the future with hope for a better world than that passed away with war.
That working together in commonality could build a better world for future generations and they did just that. The achievements of the Atlee government still reverberate down the decades and are with us still.
They did what they did in far harder times than now, are we so useless that we cannot do it?

O.K. if you were five at the time, rubbish otherwise. Book was better.
What would you do if your civilisation had been destroyed and were being pursued by genocidal robots. Yes that's it you'd stop off for a party at a casino/disco planet. Then, you'd go on ignoring loads of habitable planets in favour of finding a mythical place you were not even sure existed. Al1 at sub-light speed. Definitely for tots of all ages and size
Really they should have called it "Bonanza Waggon Train In space" why they even had pa Cartwright. Take my advice, the new series is infinitely better. Better written, better acted, better effects. Don't waste your life with this. One star

What more can I say that has not already been said? Suffice to say that I first saw this movie when I was seven years old; I have never forgotten it, it scared the bejeebers out of me. I saw it again when in my twenties, by now I was more jaded but this movie was still gripping. Now in my more sober forties, I still think that this movie is more creepy/scary than most of the stuff that passes for horror now. It is of an older time and requires more thought, imagination and concentration from the viewer consequently some of the younger ones may not have the patience but is well worth the effort. I wonder how many recent horror films will still be as fondly remembered in half a century? Ten out of ten.
