This is a wonderful reimagined TV series based on the Terry Gilliam film. Same basic idea of the film, with a group of quite inept Time Bandits, travel through time and space with the aid of a map stolen from the Supreme Being. Not as dark as the film, but just as fun, imaginative and hilarious. The special effects are a huge upgrade, rivaling some current movies. The episodic adventures are clever, interesting and build suspense. Performances are fantastic, with Lisa Kudrow, stealing pretty much every scene she is in. Our hero, Kevin, an 11 year old history buff, aids the Bandits, constantly clarifying, always in awe of the real historical events he gets to witness first hand. His quest, is to save his parents from Pure Evil, who is trying to get the map, and turn the world into his evil, awful and suffering ideal.
All in all, a lot of fun, and skillfully executed.

You have to take a leap of imagination, but you will be rewarded. This soul reincarnation fantasy about a gangster, prepping for his GED, who is reincarnated into the body of a high school student who commits suicide over bullying is quite remarkable. Suspend your disbelief, but marvel at the strongly nuanced, dramatic performances with more than a touch of humor and humanity.
It moves at a great pace over 8 episodes, with what could be stereotypical characters given a deep core. Through the clever and powerful ending, you will be constantly engaged in the story and characters, as well as surprised, enraged and resolved in their story arc.
This is an excellent, and very entertaining series.

This is an over the top, wonderfully entertaining B movie that is some serious fun. Bloody to the extreme (rivers of blood will be spilled) that knows what it is doing from the first scene. Part Con Air, Train to Busan, Terminator, with a 'what the hell just happened' vibe to keep you bewildered and laughing at just how over the top the whole thing is. Filled with a 'that guy' list of Korean actors, the action is intense, inventively crazy fight scenes that will astound.
The story twists itself around, but keeps its own logic, even suggesting the possibility of more to come, which I'd welcome.
