This Christmas movie starts off on the right foot, capturing the festive spirit and showcasing relatable characters. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes increasingly marred by plot holes, inconsistencies, and baffling character choices.
At first, the film's portrayal of the holiday season is spot on. The snow-covered landscapes, the cozy atmosphere, and the warmth of the characters all combine to create a sense of wonder and magic.
However, as the story progresses, the narrative begins to unravel.
For example, the doctor's character is equipped with a stunning, immaculately maintained house that he only occupies for one week every two years. This raises more questions than answers - who takes care of the property? Why does he keep it in such pristine condition if he's rarely there?
Despite these flaws, the film still manages to capture the spirit of the holiday season. The themes of connection, community, and kindness are all woven throughout the narrative, and they're conveyed with a sense of sincerity and warmth.
Ultimately, this Christmas movie is a mixed bag. While it captures the spirit of the holiday season and showcases, it's also marred by plot holes, inconsistencies, and baffling character choices. With some more careful plotting and attention to detail, this could have been a truly memorable holiday film. As it stands, it's a flawed watch.
Recommendation: If you're a fan of Christmas movies and are looking for something to get you in the holiday spirit, this film might be worth checking out. However, if you're looking for a more nuanced and well-crafted narrative, you might want to look elsewhere.

We all have seen movies and series about people getting stocked in time loops: the first one (and the best by far) was Groundhog Day, and then Palm Springs, Russian Doll...
All of them had something in common: the main roles live the same day once and again until they "learn something important about life"
This one is a bit different: the day after its 40th birthday, a supposedly workaholic guy, wakes up to discover that a hole year has gone bye, and it is already his 41st birthday; his wife is pregnant and he has no memories of the past year. The same situation repeats for 10 years. Ten years he didn't actually live. Until he "learns something important about life".
A really nice film.
A really nice film.
This is a story of revenge. A slow and painful revenge.
Peretti is a great actor and he is superb in his role.
I liked the way the story is told but I didn't like the ending.
