This is a fantastical film with so much symbolism. Sally Hawkins really delivers. The movie deals with a whole host of issues including the military industrial complex. Very creative on so many levels. I also found this film to be quite humorous. Great mixture of romance , comedy and empathy.
There is in fact water everywhere which creates dramatic tension. Science Fiction with a twist of love.

Boy is this symbolic of the times. Saw this at the California International Film Festival and thought it was well done. I was able to meet the two principal actors; McNamara and Morwick. Apropos to today's political climate in terms of collusion with foreign powers, in this case involving a Boston bank. Great back-and-forth between William McNamara and David Morwick. The conversation really pulls you in. Morwick, with a haunted look on his face, gives a really chilling performance of someone who has nowhere to go and is on the run.
Unfortunately, his character does not make it. I had a sinking feeling during the film that he would go down .
McNamara is equally convincing because in a sense, he is playing two roles here. Clean direction from Marcus Slabine. It's shot in a claustrophobic way that mirrors the world that these characters are trapped in. If there was a downfall of this movie, like most of these shorts, it's that it's not a full-length feature. The film left me pining for more, which I suppose isn't such a bad thing.
