This is a real , raw and sensational.
The movie takes you through the journey of the protagonist closely through his POV. The director effort is seen to make the movie as raw as possible, as his previous movie Titli was made.
Overall the fact also adds to its realism that movie is loosely based on a real life journalist. The movie focuses on the protagonist's personal and professional life, which is an attempt to showcase the life of a "journalist" in India.
What incentives really exist for a journalist to actually report "news"?. Well, its scary to realise there are none , and Manoj Bajapyee , playing the protagonist really captures this.
Well what is interesting is to see the personal and the professional life enmeshed of the protagonist and the way it is presented on the screen and it does hit you in the last chapter of the movie closely.
In an effort to add more realism the director has resorted to show more intimate scenes, which i don't think added much to the structure of the movie. Well, all i can say is don't miss the last phase of the movie, Manoj Bajpayee ( but he should really work on his accent though). Has done his job and so has Kanu and rest of the Cast.

That's it, that's how I can describe this series.
If I ever become a writer, I aim to write a 16 - 18 hour beautiful series this way, this has set the benchmark. Not a moment do your eyes miss the screen.
Its sublime in a way , the series reminded me of the the trip across a mountainous region, in a vehicle ...reclined ...looking outside ...just taking in the beauty which only Humans are capable of enjoying it and that privilege is not given to anyone.
I don't think I have watched any series this beautiful not in any Western or for that matter any Eastern series, and I have watched a few, it settles with you slowly building moment by moment, there is no rush , there are some moments of anxiety beautifully blended, but the human element triumphs by a huge magnitude.
I wouldn't write a review this way if I hadn't seen this series, it somehow stays with you.
I wish to wait for any other series the this screenwriter writes, and hope she writes on soon with the same fervor. I wish to thank her on behalf of everyone.

A lovely story,
Rarely do we get these movie which captures the village life so beautifully with delicious characters entrenched in it.
Though Indian cinema is getting a lot creative these days in capturing the essence of the village life Does seem to impart a social message which is completely acceptable and blends perfectly with the story.
Songs are beautiful.
Social dynamics capture the village tensions and apprehensions perfectly, reminds you of a lot of things inherently Indian.
Not a dull moment, all characters have played there part up to the mark.
Remarkable is how the story plays perfectly to the environment which it has setup for itself without letting you down. Weirdly lets you yearn for more.
Looking forward for the future Kiran Rao projects. Hope she releases soon.
