The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping (2024)
Had some potential but..
I've been eagerly awaiting for this to drop on Netflix and all I can say is what a massive disappointment.
The lady narrating the documentary comes across so so childish and it's a massive turn off, makes me want to turn it off to be honest. I think they could have executed it had they chosen someone else to tell their story and kept it somewhat mature but maybe this program/school/whatever it was mentally made her that way.. I don't know.
Would I recommend it? Maybe. If you can stand someone in her 30's(?) bouncing around and squealing then go for it. If you can't, then don't. Save your time and watch the other documentary on the child camp in Utah.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On (2022)
Mind Numbing Crapola
Dating shows overall are horrendous but this show takes the cake.
I'll start by doing a shoutout to Nick and Vanessa Lachey. Literally no one gives a hoot about your marriage nor do we really care to see Vanessa sobbing because of 'learning new things' in couples counselling. This show isn't about you or your story of dating others to be brought back together. Weirdest cohosting of a show to date.
Now.. can someone please explain how spending three weeks living with a complete stranger is meant to prove one loves their partner and wants to marry them? Most of these couples fell into the lust trap because it was literal strangers telling the other person what they wanted to hear. I ended up fast forwarding through most of the episodes because the storylines were so boring.
Oh, and Kat.. you truly deserve Alex. To stand there and defend someone delusional making up their own lies to stir the pot makes you just as bad. But fingers crossed he makes a final fool of you and walks. Absolute trash.
Four Good Days (2020)
Casted Poorly
This movie popped up in my Netflix suggestions and who doesn't love a good redemption story of overcoming addiction?
I can't speak of the personal addiction aspects of the movie because I've thankfully never been in that position of battling addiction myself but have watched a sibling go through it. Unfortunately I feel the cast was poor. Mila does not suit nor does her acting experience really extend to playing a drug addict. Her voice is grinding and painful to listen to in general, now throw in her tantruming screams.. painful x10. Mum and her fake sobbing in the car and then bathroom.. yawn.
The one thing they got right was the enabling aspect. If anyone has been in the position of watching a loved one go through addiction then you would know you would do anything to keep that person in your life, even if it includes peeing into a cup to pass a test.
Human Zoo (2020)
Ashamed of myself..
Honestly ashamed of myself for sitting through such a garbage 'movie'.. if we shall call it that.
The movie starts off at some casting call with some plain Jane putting on a tough act to scare the contestants into jumping when their names are called. Here we see some horrid, and I mean HORRID, acting.. a girl talking about buying her cat furniture (lol?!) with the prize money and then a woman dressed in red and jewels.. who then later has no problem dropping the rejected prom queen act and showering in front of two random men like a tart.
Then we move into 8(?) days of watching people slowly lose their minds in single cells with zero resolution at the end. Obviously a ploy to make people watch the next movie.. hahahah no thanks, I'll be busy washing my goldfish's hair.
The 7PM Project (2009)
Sarah Harris is trash
As the title suggests.. Sarah Harris is garbage and can't even be described as a journalist LOL.
Going from sitting on Studio 10 gossiping and lusting over poor Tristan, she's now making a complete clown of herself on an already struggling TV show.
Not sure how constantly speaking of her children and giggling over silly dancing segments really accounts or equates to journalism or being a journalist.
The Project itself is literal garbage. I don't know how anyone takes this show or its 'hosts' seriously. All it truly needs is a permanent placement of Joe Hildebrand and it will be a complete circus.
Sarah Harris and The Project, please crawl in a dark hole together and never resurface.
Jackass Forever (2022)
Utter Trash
I grew up watching Jackass and the spin offs such as Bam Margera's series so I didn't expect much to begin with.
I feel like Jackass Forever was used as an excuse for boring middle aged men to show their genitals on camera. The opening scene was genitals, another scene was bees on genitals (animal abuse, hello?!) and all throughout the movie was genitals. Maybe an OnlyFans account would be more appropriate.
A must watch if you enjoy grey middle aged men still acting like hyped up teenagers seeking attention.
Becky (2020)
Umm..
This movie is garbage.. are we really going to believe a 13 year old can outsmart and kill a bunch of grown men who have escaped from prison?
And the unnecessary harming and killing of the dogs.. ugh, really makes me question the producer and their obvious screwed up idea of 'horror'. For this reason, I'm giving it a one star.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Interesting
Not something I would normally watch but it caught my interest.
Adele is a damaged soul trapped in a beautiful body and you don't see this until further into the series.
I didn't care for too much of the David and Louise storyline and it only really picks up towards the end when more is revealed about Adele.
I think they poorly casted Louise (Simona Brown) I don't really see any connection or attraction between her and David like you would expect for someone having an affair. Louise's character becomes redundant when she turns into a psycho listening into David's calls with Adele, you were a side piece girl.
The American Barbecue Showdown (2020)
Meh.. Boring
The concept of this show is interesting as smoking meats has never been a done thing in my family but the contestants are what I would call bogan trash. Did the producers scrape the bottom of the barrel to get the trashiest and most boring contestants?
The judges.. if we can call them that. I had to google who Melissa was because she just comes across as some snooty yet miserable witch they plucked off the street. I think she's slightly confused on what show she's judging because she whinges non stop about tasting the smoked flavours of meat. Lyric (?) doesn't add much to the show except for some weird angled big toothed grins while Melissa throws a tantrum over the smokey flavours.
Yawn!
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Nothing Fabulous
I don't understand the hype surrounding this show.
I found the story to be quite slow and boring, mainly when they aren't competing. Do the games catch your attention? Sure. But it isn't anything to write home about.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)
Awful Garbage
I would say this is a movie aimed at teenagers given the characters are the typical 'school kids' in the middle of nowhere being tormented by a possessed book.. yawn.
An abusive boyfriend locks his girlfriend, her brother and his friends in a basement where the main character finds a book and takes it home. Flicking through the book, said main character flicks through the book and sees it writes itself stories which turn into real life events. The boy eventually gets impaled by a scarecrow named Harold and then becomes the scarecrow.. I mean, yaaaawn.
I won't bore you with the rest of the events/deaths in the movie but they then do the typical 'research' into the book owner who was an inpatient at a psych hospital. They request medical records from 100+ years ago and end up breaking into the R. E. D room and magically find said record within seconds.. totally believable. They then listen to a recording of the owner being shocked and tortured during an interview.. yaaaaaawn!
Don't bother watching. Watching paint dry is more interesting :)
Alone (2020)
Silliness
I've noticed these thriller/horror movies all have a main villain with some superhuman strength that involves a couple of punches and the person is bleeding or dead.. lol.
I think I focused more on a game of candy crush rather than the movie itself. There's no originality as it's just a regurgitated idea from every other thriller/horror film on the market.
Give it a miss.
Broke (2020)
Career Suicide
When I see these types of shows it makes me think that the actor/actress' career is over.
As for the show itself.. cringeworthy.
How to Stay Married (2018)
Crapola
The only funny aspect to this show is that it's still being shoved in our faces on every commercial break and hasn't been cancelled.
I watched a couple of episodes and it's just.. bland. I don't find any humour to it and Judy Lucy's voice is enough to send you down a psychotic trip.
Trainwreck (2015)
Hot Garbage
I'll start this off by saying I've never been a fan of Amy Schumer. I don't believe she has any real talent as an actress or comedian and don't understand the hype that surrounds her.
I have watched a number of movies with Amy as a leading/main character but they all seem so similar.. a bogan, white trash and vulgar woman who somehow finds love in every plot.. boring.
Wine Country (2019)
Meh.. Could Be Better
I really feel that Paula Pell brings down this movie with her try-hard acting and over the top antics.
Not really sure why there was a random scene of vibrator gifting but okay.. plot is all over the joint. Only redeeming qualities of Wine Country are the Bridesmaids cast.
Fall Girls (2019)
Woeful
Would give it 0 stars if I could!
Plot is confusing from the start.. a white woman owning a business that only hires women of colour.. okay? Then they plot to kill the boss while one of the women's husband acts like an utter fruit cake over her attending a strip club????
Weird and not worth the watch. Horrible acting too.
Behind The Sash (2019)
Laughable
Women of privilege are globe trotting to show the hardships of different countries, cultures and life situations.
Might be a worthy show if it wasn't hosted by the typical cashed up bimbos.
The Unicorn (2019)
Attractive??
Title sums it up really.. attractive male? Haha what a joke. Boring and unrealistic. Yuck!
The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019)
Boring
Found the storyline in general pretty boring and really drawn out.
Not sure why a kids movie needs to see a pig in a pink thong though??
A.M.I. (2019)
Trashtastic
Pulled the plug from the moment she harmed the cat.
Have to wonder if producers are psychopaths themselves :(
Get Out (2017)
Enjoyed It
I didn't have high expectations for this movie if I'm honest. The psychology thriller aspects behind this movie are 100% spot on.
The Glass House (2001)
Meh
I watched maybe 40 minutes before turning it off. The storyline is predictable and boring.
Orange Is the New Black (2013)
Really Can't Get Enough!
I love, love, LOVE OITNB! The creators have managed to find actors and actresses that just seem to fit together with their onscreen "chemistry". The storyline is consistent and easy to follow.
The Basement (2018)
Um... what?
Huge pile of steaming garbage. Mischa Barton just makes it 100x worse.
