I must admit I was disapointed after seeing this movie. Despite loving Scorsese's former work, and brilliant actors like Deniro and Dicaprio, this was a boring slow burner...and way too long. Thankfully I did stream it instead of seeing it in a cinema. I portioned it out over two days. I fell asleep after the first 1,5 hours runtime, and watched the rest of it next day (in 2 x 1 hour portions). In my opiniom it felt more like a unengaging, never ending documentary, rather than a crime/drama with with an entertaining value. I guess it might be a more interesting way to tell about this important piece of history? Credits to Deniro and Dicaprio for excellent acting...as expected.
The best tv-series I've seen in decades. Finally a series with substance and not just explotions, a lot of noise and animated effects. Totally free from superheroes, swords & axes, disasters and nature catastrophies. A great script reminding us about classic spy thrillers with great twists and turns, without anytime getting predictable. In my opinion the series is perfect paced with action and drama scenes, never making it boring to watch, and never going «over the top». Add some fantastic cinematography and some faboulous acting by Jeff Bridges, and you certainly have a true masterpiece of a series.
This is the best movie I've seen for quite a while. It's a touching story way deeper than what it seems like on the surface. Brilliant writing and brilliant acting, especially Mads Mikkelsen who never dissapoints.
