I'm a Christian, I thought the premise was intriguing. I ignored the negative reviews at my own peril--what a mistake!
Every scene is dripping with nonsense and cringe. There are so many characters with their own pointless story.
It's as if someone took a premise, plugged it into ChatGPT, and had it include things like 'humor', 'action', 'love'.
I would have turned it off but I was watching with my mom. Anyways, the acting sucked, the story sucked, the dialogue sucked, the movie was pointless, and to top it off, every once in a while there's a jarring insertion of 'humor' or something that does not fit. You've been warned.
Bad.

Sucks to be you if you enjoyed the first one. They decided to make a sequel and completely disregard the magic that made you love the first one.
1. This movie is not scary. The mindblowing psychological nervewreckingness in the original is completely disregarded, replaced with jumpscare/gore. It's cheesy, awkward, cringe.
2. The main character is miles behind the main character in the original.
3. My final point is to warn you that if you were terrified of the first one, and loved it, you'll unfortunately not enjoy this one. It sucks, and it doesn't just suck because it sucks...it sucks because it should have been good.

This movie is definitely different, so if you're in the mood for a standard hollywood horror flick, you might not enjoy it. But if you are seeking something truly out there, give this one a whirl. It is breathtakingly scary.
I don't understand other reviewers. Who cares if it's low budget? Does every movie need to be an Avengers-level production for people to enjoy a film now?
Does every movie need to have x amount of character development, or this or that etc. Etc.?
Apparently, because I still have yet to hear any valid complaints about the movie that are substantial and are backed with any solid criticisms.
