Ludicrously crap, fantastically unreal, laughable well acted hogwash.

There is always an event the brings about the extinction of a species. For humans, all turning blind would be one......

Any wild animals involved... The people would be eaten. Stat. In fact the wild dogs alone would do the job.

As one reviewer said, if you ever visit a blind peoples event, even the best still have trouble. Even evolution would take 100,000's of years at least, to evolve around something as serious as blindness.

How they all learnt a New Zealand Haka, God only knows.....

Another points out clothing style, jewellery, aesthetics.... All pointless...

They'd all be beaten by the first pothole the size of a foot.

leg muscle structure would be so badly effected they would not even be able to outrun a killer sloth, or a murderous tortoise without hitting a tree a wall or a.... pothole the size of a foot.

Beautifully shot, goodish acting.I'm stretching for any more. it is a show you would want to like, but you would find yourself having to make too many excuses for it!

The pain will subside..........
22 October 2019
Bland atmosphere, confused first half, tacky almost shoddy out-fits.

Poor dialogue made worse by top name actors, managing the poor script, leaving you wondering whether they also found it painful as well !

With all the great shows out there, Watchmen ( which was hardly a story that made much of an impact originally anyway ), presented in an alternative reality, where they still try to sell you the black / white issue ( I guess alternative reality wasn't alternative enough ) and leave you waiting for the usual politically correct 'social rendering'.

What a shame. I wish I could raise more praise. Actually no I don't.

Meh......... :o) ( sideways Watchman )

Telling it the way it is.......Season 1 a must! Season 2 a bust......!
30 September 2019
The first season was atmospheric, a constant sense of foreboding and hopelessness permeated by and air of creepiness. The acting and casting was spot on and the season evolved really nicely.

Enter season 2. BORING !!!!!

Slow paced, mediocre acting, shallow cast. The story line is a little thin, the supernatural element tries to communicate intended suspense, but comes across very bland. Even the limited make up and special effects are poor.

By the time they add a tragic element to the supernatural element, it simply pours water on an ember that was barely smouldering anyway.

It may be a wonderful drama to some and some will harp on about the books.....

30 minutes into episode 8 of season 2 and i don't think I can be bothered anymore!

After a fantastic 1st Season..... Season 2 should have been a 8/9..... But....
22 September 2019
Incredibly imaginative original series and after watching an excellent season 1, I started Season 2....

Halfway through the 2nd Season a friend of mine pointed out that any serial killer in a coma in hospital would have cameras locked on them 24 hrs a day.

Especially if there was any signs of recovery.

And also to provide security against any interfering crackpots of which I'm sure there would be many. They would not be strolling in and out of his room without a care while cutting edge medical treatments and protocols are used......

That fact simply destroyed the whole premise of season 2 and after that, it made the season look a little silly.

What a shame.

The great horror writers just got spanked !!
17 September 2019
Leaving the start line and break neck speed, this series takes you by the throat and drags you at full pace from the beginning. And it does not let up.

Definitely makes my top 10 of scariest supernatural movies of all time.

The cast are all on point, the story line is directed with finesse and the dark moody scares just keep coming.

More and more the film industry are using Eastern style of presentation to increase the creepy factor ( The Ring etc ), and boy does it work. So take a seat, buckle up, and make sure your are wearing fart proof pants.

Good show ruined by an arrogant Hollywood title
1 September 2019
Of course success in Florida or California would make you a God. Yuk, so much Hollywood is so far stuck up itself........It can see the stars!

Its a shame because it annoyed me so much I found it harder to watch the show.

'How to become a wealthy Cod' in Florida would have been better.

I felt like a Zombie after watching this.
30 May 2019
Well it had a star studded cast!

But after the boredom has turned you into a mindless minion of the brain dead zombie world, try to remember a yawn will result in permanent dislocation!

No atmosphere. A pointless, non credible story line. If it was funny then the comic genius was beyond me, as it was hidden in a script my 9 year old could have written.

The budget was so low I expected to see power extension leads being dragged across the set. If it had a bigger budget, then the Director spent it getting hammered in his trailer.

One of the most shocking examples of an accomplished and esteemed cast coming together to create a real master turd. And it deserves at least to make the history books for that.

I hope you enjoyed this review! I promise you it was a lot more fun than this film.

An Honest review by a solid Englishman
18 December 2018
The only way to review foreign titles on the international market is directly and honestly. Too many reviews will be by patriots of their country and to be fair that can be expected, but we all need to know the broader perspective!

So, to start, it is in Turkish with English subs. I watch a lot of international titles and if you can handle sub titles, then you are doing yourself proud, because there are many excellent stories out there if you can!

The main character is above average in the way he presents as a lead hero. I say that, because when you look his character he is a historical hero, not a superhero, ( though he does have superpowers! ) This makes him different from Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Dare Devil etc etc. His acting is excellent, he is solid, believable and credible. And above all, LIKEABLE !

The acting is very good generally and easily on par with anything produced in the West, (bearing in mind this is a Netflix sponsored production). The characters are well rounded and present very well.

The filming is average an again on par with Western production, but not over emphasising 'breath taking' back drops to divert from the story or to ram Turkish culture down your throat. Many foreign productions do seem to do that as if tourism is more the angle than the story itself!

All in all the premise of the story is good and I have found the flavour of the whole show enjoyable and most importantly NOT CHEESY !!

If you want low quality cheese the watch BLACK LIGHTNING.

Read between the lines for the potential !!!
2 December 2018
So,.... The first episode launches and you are left with little explanation as to what they are doing. You get a rough idea, but more plot growth is needed, and I think this is what has confused many reviewers.

it could become an excellent series..... Or it could simply just crash......

But it seems warm up. Still with poor plot development, but a little thought, you can get the general idea.

The Earth is in decline.

Launch a spaceship with a rare opportunity to make first contact.

An interesting angle with psychic involvement.

The lead cast is very English. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the accent can help remove the 'cheese' some sci-fi dialogues suffer with American accents, but the cast does have American main characters as well.

And all the characters present some promise. The Psychic is a dangerous creepy English Cockney. The Captain is a hologram who you may have seen as Manchester Black currently in the Supergirl series. And the henchman / security guards are not the best actors.

It presents several ingredients and we can all hope it starts to gel into a story with some promise. Emphasis on the 'hope'.

Having said that (without spoilers) I hope the first scenes are not a clue to how the first season ends, because that would be disappointing!

Black Lightning (2018–2021)

OFCOM in the UK should ban this programme
23 November 2018
Don't get me wrong. I love the superhero genre. In fact programmes such as Luke Cage and the fantastic Black Panther Movie both agenda ethnic issues in their own way, but they do it in a reasonable and balanced fashion.

Black lightning is embarrassing to Black African Americans. Even after discussing it with some of my Afro-American friends, even they admit it gives Black Lives Matter a bad name. And makes them feel a little uncomfortable.

From the Albino Black Bad Guy, to the white Police force to Gambi ' the token white guy' written in to make the show appear more PC, the whole down trodden Black issue is smeared over the screen nice and thick and without shame.

The mixed high school is represented as a mixed school. But all the issues are Black.

The neighbourhood is represented as a mixed neighbourhood. But with all the issues Black.

Maybe Black Lightning needs to be re cast as an Albino as well?

Or maybe Tobias's long lost brother.......

Sad and embarrassing for decent Black folks everywhere.

Now this was a real surprise !!
10 November 2018
Rarely does a movie start in one direction and leave you so unprepared for the direction it is going to take. And I mean that in a good way.

DON'T READ THE REVIEWS WITH SPOILERS!

This low budget movie is the epitome of a simple premise being twisted into a story line full of surprises and unique perspectives.

NOT YOUR USUAL TIME TRAVEL MOVIE AND NOW ONE OF MY FAVOURITE LOW BUDGET MOVIES OF ALL TIME.

" Well I did not see that coming " Was all my inner voice could say all the way through!

Don't review a movie if you've decided you're gonna hate it before starting!
8 November 2018
I only watched this because a flat headed reviewer decided that they were going to hate it as soon as they heard ' Teenage Secret Agents '.....!

No point in deciding against a visual experience based on 3 written words, you may as well make the choice not to watch it.

As it goes, not a bad movie at all! Good for a fun watch when there is nothing else.

If you are a young teen, you will enjoy it, If you are an adult you will accept it for what it is.
