We need more of such kind of movies. I did not know that this film is directed by the same person who directed '96 (which was literally my favourite Tamil film until yestrday). Not one person felt out of place . Each and every actor played their part to perfection.. The performances were so honest, innocent, practical and so believable.. Stellar casting. The story is extremely simple, but it triggers your emotions and how.. No unnecessary twists, no forced scenes. Just Pure cinema. Some of the scenes were just Magical. And there are plenty of them. Any true cinema lover will never hate sich kind of cinema. I was really hoping it never ended. Such was the brilliance of the director's story telling. I mentioned before about the brilliant cast. Just to add on, i think Arvind Swamy and Karthi have given their best performance till date. I am not a Tamilian and I discovered about this movie from a Youtube channel. But I really feel sorry for the team that they had to chop 18 mins off because it dint work well at the theatres. Would request them to release the uncut version. This is just a masterpiece. Plain, Simple, Pure cinema experince.

This movie is Way Way Way Way Ahead of its time. The concept itself is so brilliant and extremely beautifully crafted on the screen. It is very difficult to pull off something lile this because it involves numerous subtle nuances and credit has to go to the whole team involved in the writing, direction etc. Jim Carey as usual is a treat to watch. And the way he enacts the part is so refreshing to watch. He is the only thing to watch in this 1hr 40mins drama and he nails it to perfection.

This just goes on to show that all of our lives are under someone else's control. We are all mere artists playing our parts and the only thing that keeps us moving is hope, light and joy.

Watching this movie in 2022 and still felt so raw and dark and intense.. This is a testimony to the fact that a good story with good writing will always work, no matter the audience and the year the audience watches it.. RGV is brilliant in giving this movie the treatment it deserved!! Manoj Bajpayee plays the angry headed gangster with a soul but his character is a bit rash and doesn't end up taking the right decision at the right time. And he has NAILED it!! This is a pure masterclass of acting!!! The way he changes his expressions from rage to emotions, from stubbornness to friendliness is a treat to watch.. JD Chakravarty and Urmila played their part superbly as well but nothing can match upto BHIKU MATRE is this cult classic!
