Dune Prophecy has to be one of the most boring scifi TV shows ever made. Well, atleast on TV today:)
If it wasnt because i'm a Dune fan, i probably would not watch it.
Altough the overaching story is interesting, it is just totally lost in everyting else.
The episodes are super long ( over 1 hour long) but contains a story that should take 30 minutes.
The lines for the characters seem to have been written by ChatGPT ("pompous", misplaced, sort of not fitting the scene they belong to correctly)
The director seems to consistently choose the same boring, dystopian scifi "sets", relying on green/blue screen almost in every scene. Its like watching one of the old TV shows produced "with a live audience" from the seventies/eighties, where everything happens in the same house with a few rooms that are switched out on stage.
The characters are uninteresting and forgettable.
I usually blames the director for not utilizing acting talent good enough, but i dont really get what the casting tried to do here. Travis Fimmel does not seem to be able to portray anything but "Ragnar in the future".
None of the "Sisters" seemed to be able to hold their own in a scene.
There are good actors in this show, such as Mark Strong and Olivia Williams, but they where not allowed to shine.
If i should "blame" someone for this boring show, i would say that it has to start with a) The writers b) The director c) the terrible casting.
Based on "the crew" in IMDB, it seems that "The Creators" have a firm hand on the steering wheel, with creation, writing and producing, so overall, it is probably their "fault" for this train wreck.

I'm a huge fan of Parminder Nagra and cant force myself to only give one star.
As for the actual show, I left it after the first half hour. This is just yet again a show that want the to show the world that there are everyday racism everywhere, and that black and brown people gets subjected to this by old white men or the "system" everywhere and everyday.
I wish for once that someone could stop creating shows with this stereotype.
UK have a long tradition of creating great crime TV shows, with everything in the Agatha Christie world, Inspector Morse, Grantchester and Luther.
Would it not be nice if Parminder Nagra could be a female lead in a crime drama, without the focus of the first 30 minutes being about the rasism and prejudice.
Do rasism and prejudice exist? Yes. But most people go trough life without that being the focus of their existance. Except all these current tv show/movie creators and writers that make a lot of money in presenting the world in this way.
If you can stomach the "agenda" of this show, I'm guessing that you will find a good show with a very good lead actor. But if you are like me, that you are fed up with all the shows that use stereotypes to present the world in the worst way, you'll just skip it.

Its a decent enough adventure comedy, more "inspired" by Borderlands than an adaption.
It seems to sort of aimed at a Deadpool type of action comedy, but failed as it is quite kid friendly action. I think this movie would have benefited from going the total R rating route.
You sort of know what kind of movie it is going to be when Kevin Hart comes on screen, with jokes and attempts at comedy that are not exactly there..and that you've seen a thousand times before.
So the movie would probably also have benefited from someone other than Kevin Hart in the role.
Would i "again" view this at the movies? No.. but it is a good and enjoyable action comedy, to watch at home.
