Elvis (2022)
Best bio pic I've seen yet!
I went to see this flick, I will say my expectations were low to none since hearing about the development of this production, I mean how can you do such a bio pic of the greatest music icon in rock n roll history? I mean I literally grew up listening to the music and we watched all his movie due to a die hard fan, my mother and love it.
It wasn't long into this film that I've become emotionally invested. It's one thing to read history about his life, but when you see Austin Butler portray Elvis, you feel this electric energy coming up and down your body. Tom Hanks portrayal of Elvis manager, you can't help but hate and feel his struggles to make someone's dream happen for his own benefit. I see there's that strong power struggle between the two and it just breaks my heart of what Elvis went through to be the best.
All that Elvis wanted was to perform for his fans and sing what spoke to his heart and you see down to his roots as a Memphis boy who broke so many barriers and changed history. The story was emotionally driven but also felt more documentary rather than a bio pic at times. Other than Elvis and blues music, there were some moments I felt taken out of the experience with the modern music thrown in, not sure why that was put in there other than trying to associate our younger generation to relate to the music?
Overall this was an excellent film and probably the best film of the year and I don't say that lightly, everyone involved deserves an Oscar!
Job Guys (2020)
Humorously Fantastic!
Just watched all 12 episodes of it last night with my fiancé and couldn't stop laughing at the comedic excitement this show had to offer! This was an indie tv show with a budget, but with the director's vision, writing, and acting this had you engaged with the story and makes you wanna see what happens in the next episode.
Kevin Caliber and Brandon Fisher are the perfect comedic team, Lessa Durst adds to the humor as the secretary who reads books on one hand and a gun on the other.
The Director/Cinematographer/Editor of the show Brook Hubbs, who also plays Dwight in the show, has such a great eye in all the projects he's touched and with all the work into filming to post-production, this tells you he not only brought a great product as a visionary but he's a workhorse behind the camera.
They think the only thing is missing is a second season, there is more room to grow!
Great work and cheers to cast and crew of Job Guys! 5 Stars all the way!!!
Superman: End of an Era (2019)
Superman is back!
After watching this, I smiled. First off, I love the fact this paid respect to Chris Reeve in this, so many actor's that portrayed Superman, Ken honored the man with justice. The story was short, sweet and to the point with very little on the budget and time to put together. I've followed Chris' work for many years and love how he has adapted our beloved characters from the DC comic universe but also other realms, so if you loved this, check out Blinky Productions on Youtube and Vimeo. Give it a watch!
