Xin sheng (2024)
Full of surprises, 10/10 to Jing BY
In the drama, everyone said that Fei Ke has a kind of affinity that people can't refuse. In fact, we know that this is the aura Jing Boran himself brings to this character, his acting is brilliant whose in mid 30 acting 18 high schooler doesn't have any awkward feeling. From the beginning I hate that despicable greedy person but later I feel sad what he encountered! He eats the leftover in tears which is such a subtle acting and Jing Boran's charm that makes Fei Kede's deception more realistic and makes everyone believe in him. The sense of suspense is thoroughly enhanced, and the director is good at story telling and each one 's Rashomon type narration is compact and interlocking. The most exciting thing that the "constant twists and turns", because you will never know the ending until you see the last episode.

Totally boring
Understand 10/10 given to Byun Woo-seok as he became famous in this leading role and gained the highest popularity. However, I'm not a fan of him but a fan of time travel drama as long as it integrates many elements like Someday or One Day, Reset, Rebooting..
The opening starts off quite well. When it comes to episode 3, it turns out to be the heavily repetition of the content, same romance setting, same jokes, same murder chasing scene as well as same crying scene!! I am question myself if I am missing something and watching the same high rating drama. Then I decided to turn on the YouTube spoiler version and found nothing is missing. There is no brain-burning reversals and other suspenseful pursuit of the murderer. Last episode is all about pure love and like family reunion drama genre. I don't mind a romance drama, it just can't get into the female lead, her voice and facial expression made me feel being annoyed. Even my 13 years feels the same.
Civil War (2024)
Most annoying character
Not mentioning about the shallow storyline but the most annoying thing about the movie is Cailee Spaeny's character as an inexperienced amateur photojournalist. She is basically doing whatever that is not supposed to do and end up getting the most team members are to die because of her! What are points to create a main character like this? And this child should not be in these dangerous places at all. She is not even a reporter. This kind of bratty character annoyed me a lot. . It seems no matter how dangerous or serious the situation is, there is always such a stupid, brainless girl causing trouble. In the end, this girl really ruined the whole movie!
The last scene is ridiculous she doesn't even check out her mentor after being shot becoz of her again, and she calmly takes pictures! What is more, another reporter being a leader to order other soldiers to stop and just ask for the quote. The press is always running in front of the troop and most of time they are highly protected by the troop, it's just like another planet and stay out of reality!
Man chang de ji jie (2023)
Beautiful work
It is not only the suspense story itself, but also the beautiful work that presents the truth of life with a mixture of joy and sorrow through the description of life and people. The suspense is part of the story, and the core is life and destiny.
At the first few episodes, it starts out a bit slow. I also confuse by the different time narratives. When it comes to build up more characters likes Wang Yang, Shen Mo and brother, as compared to the suspenseful dismemberment case, it is more attractive about the fate of these people. The more I feel empathy for the murder, the more I sense about impermanence of life.
The success of the TV drama is not only reflected in the restoration of the sense of time in the props and scenery, but also the character creation and the actors' subtle performance. Though I'm not a native Putonghua speaker, I can still understand their effort in picking up a perfect Northeastern Chinese accents. Wang Xiang and Gong Biao in the play, regardless of their accents or demeanor, are exactly like our uncles and fathers in real life! Plus, the lighting and music are exceptional good.

Terrible acting!
I try hard to watch and found no storyline has been developed. Every episode consists different type of conversions or argument between 2 women, or a couple, sometimes between the lead actor and detective, big boss and his subordinate etc. The conversation content is incompleted and use of flashback again and again in every moment. The pace is extremely slow. 2 lead actresses are so so annoyed! I can't believe a woman who acts furious when she knows her son is dead and suddenly she shouts out in an awkward way. The next few days she keeps changing hairstyles and wears a green evening gown when confronting her rival in love. She looks like going Paris fashion show rather than a mum losing a son! And the wife is even more worsen, she is in tears in all situations even though the moment when she has affairs with in-law. Her acting is so embarrassed. Plus, everyone's acting is so unnatural and their facial expressions all look like constipation! They can't speak a single word in a minute and just stare each other forever! The setting is so so weird and unrealistic.
The Capture (2019)
Season one is extremely good, season two is terrible!
I will give 9 to season one, particular the beginning is so unexpected. It consists of all necessary good elements and the whole idea is intelligent. People in power not only monitor you, but also fabricate evidence to frame you. Plus, the actings are so convincing that is important to keep us watch all the way and look forward how Rachel can defeat the correction. However, when it comes to season 2. The dialogue is so stereotypical. The set up of the main new character Issac Turner constitutes a total disaster. He is supposed to the top official Security Minister but what he presented in the show is just like a college boy! The way he talked to his subordinates in a naive way with rolling her eyes and funny facial expression! When he confronts with Danny Hart, he looks a frightened innocent boy and apparently he knows nothing about national security! When he finds the fake live interview on BBC he even stutters 'I I I I I would I would ne never how ....' when facing danger, he is round-eyed with amazement. Assuming his ranking is just under PM and Home Secretary, how would that embarrassed and awkward behavior happened to a veteran politician! When he knows the conspiracy about data master, his innocent look appears again! Plus the Algorithm theory is not convincing too, so for me season 2 is below average!
Mo fang fan (2023)
Totally overrated, slow and mediocre
Not sure if I watch the same TV as other audiences! I expect more excitement, suspense crime setting but it's nothing but the awkward scene an old man who disguises a dog baking. At the beginning, the prosecutor has been described as a genius one who solves some tough cases. However, I don't see any strategy he uses to deal with all suspects later on. He even said I should have investigated the scar brother in episode 5, OMG! He looks like daydreaming. Then it spends another half hour to question the scar brother. The dialogue is terrible, 'hi relaxed, it's just a causal conversation', and he smilies as an idiot. Plus everyone's speaking pace is so so slow, like the sister being so poky in the tv interview, and the prosecutor again uses his funny smile look while questioning the true killer. The reporter, the sister, the sick mom, all these settings are like family ethical drama! If someone who likes a real brain burned crime drama, highly recommend Chen Feng Shi San Zai, not this one.
I fast forward to last 2 episodes. There's no worst, only worse! The most ridiculous thing is prosecutor has identified who will be the killer but still no tracking or monitoring can be done. Until the next murder happens, he shouts "why do you kill people?" I am just speechless about this dialogue!
Xiao shi de ta (2022)
Heart-broken ending! Unexpectedly good!
Given that the suspense-themed films have become my all the time favour like Gone girl, Invisible Guest, I did enjoy all those twists and turns with the reversal of the plot in the end. In this movie, the director is good at creating atmosphere of suspense and horror which I'm totally obsessed with it. Three actors are impressive and give such a good chemistry, and surprisingly Jenice Man can act that creepy! It's not just a good "brain-burning" one, it is difficult for us to figure out the whole picture of the incident. In the end, the starry night in the deep ocean is so sad and is good enough to make everyone cry.
Chen feng shi san zai (2023)
Exceptional good
For criminal investigation dramas, the most difficult part is to keep audience stay focus on tracing who the murderer is. For 24 episodes, it's hard to achieve but it eventually made it! This suspense lasted until the last 2 episodes!
The whole drama is full of surprises, pervert ,twist, scary, and empathy particular when we find out the real painting serial killer. During the serial murder case for13 years, it well describes human nature step by step and how crime breeds. What is really impressive is that the chemistry between Lao Wei and Xiao Lu, it also demonstrates the portrayal of people's dark side which is far exceeding the crime spectacle.
The director's shooting skills is good as the play intersects with main narrative, interlude narrative, and flashback, making the two lines of 1997 and 2010 parallel. The flow is smooth.
Plus, the performance of all main and supporting actors are convincing , the unique transition and art design, etc. So highly recommend!
Kai duan (2022)
Better than expected
Kai Duan is the time loop theme TV series just like suspenseful sci-fi thriller "Source Code". A girl experiences Deja vu aboard the bus and faces same passengers and same things. She has to go back in time and tries to find out what is behind the bombing but allowing her around 15 min to go through trial and error. Given this setting, it's easy to produce 2-hours movie about the non-stop thriller ride like "Unstoppable", "The Commuter". But talking producing 15 episodes with the same bus setting while keeping audience stay watching till the end without getting bored, it's a challenging job for directors. Luckily Kai Duan has all these mysterious elements that make it a high tension, focus and enjoyable one.
Both key actors have amazing chemistry. At first Heyun doesn't agree with Shiqing's "saving the world" value and he has confrontation about "Being kind is not a cheap virtue. It depends your capability". That's the thing I like very much. I also like this funny anti-bomb CP till the 24 episode. For the last one, I think it's too fake about the super happy ending.
Burassyu appu raihu (2023)
Another type of 'Sense of Humor'
Another time travel TV drama, but believe me, it's totally different from those exciting and bloody ordinary time-travel dramas. Instead, it uses many tiny and trivial things to connect the daily life. As far as I know, the screenwriter "Stupid Rhythm" is good at using nonsensical and relaxed dialogues like office gossip to tell the ordinary thing in an interesting way.
There are a few scenes that I can't help myself laugh out e.g. Asami would become a giant anteater, and her friend would turn out to be an Ant, and next Asami asks which person to reincarnate in the picture but indeed the picture is for reference. All these types of dialogues can demonstrate that the writer is very precise in grasping the fun throughout some lengthy and gossiping interactions. It isn't easy! Just like Hong Kong Stephen Chow's classic "nonsensical" and by using that "nonsensical" to bring out a deeper meaning at life. I particularly like the child version of Asami, her performance is very cute and yet mature.
Tian cai ji ben fa (2022)
Full of surprises
At first, i think it's just another time travel or parallel world TV drama like the Taiwanese drama "Someday or One day" but indeed the content is more than this which is an amalgam of mathematics, genius vs mediocrity, family and love.
The whole story can basically be divided into three parts. The first part is about traveling back to childhood world. It may not be too difficult to use the current intelligence to cope with the selection of the primary grade Mathematical Olympiad, but it's challenging to ensure that every one in the group photo can survive to the end. That's a very interesting storyline and every kid actor acts very well and natural. This story can be regarded as the most passionate part that i like the most! Though the pace in the second time travel is a bit slow, it keeps bringing you surprises and controversial issues like what Lin Zhaoxi believes it's rather a cheating than refurbishing when rerunning the life in the parallel world.
When it comes to last two episodes, it reminds the concept of Sliding door, whether or not Lin can pick up her new born girl, the story shows two parallel lives of Zhaoxi's family, but at the same time, it explains well all cause and effect relationship in two parallel worlds, every little step is so correlated.
The most heart breaking part is the last words left to Zhaoxi before her mum's dying, as a mother, I can just feel the sincere and touching maternal love. Overall, highly recommended!
Hui lai de nü er (2022)
Unbelievable good!
The family is simple with a super kind father, a strong mother who taking care her mentally impaired son but the story is developing to the dark side of everyone including selfishness, lies, betray. The director is making good of everyone's character to tell us story, and I can feel tension and up and down in each episode. I am impressed by all details that can be well explained in the end e.g. Why the mother is always doing hand-washing. The acting for all main characters are solid like the confrontation between mother and daughter is convincing. The more innocent the husband is, the easier it is to bring fear through its reversal, which makes me breath-taking and terrifying. In addition to the episode style and it's plot design, the soundtrack, lighting, color adjustment are well defined. In the end, the big twist reveals about the missing daughter is the boomerang of the delay treatment of the brother, and everything can happen because of karma.
Ming yat zin gei (2022)
Old fashion
Hard to believe it is the best box office movie in HK so far. It seems HK movie is a dead end!
The story plot and all acting suck! The dialogue is corny and old-fashion like 'skynet' is me, I am the 'skynet'; the sky could be dark but we couldn't! OMG, what happened to the writers? Are all living in Paleolithic age? When even comparing to all those old HK movies like 'A better Tomorrow', the script looks more trendy than this one.
The CGI isn't impressive and the color is dull. Hard to believe it spends over hundred million for this. It's hard to compare to Hollywood ones, even looks worsen than China movie like 'A Writer Odyssey'.
Last but not least, all actors are supposed to be best ones who won several awards in the different film festival. But look at Nick Cheung's 'Botox face' in the play, I can't hold my laughing all the way! Sean Lau's acting remains stereotyped and repetitive no matter what role he plays, same tone, same pace!
First Love (2022)
Remind me of classic movie Love Letter
The Japanese drama "First Love" based on the classic song "First Love" by Hikaru Utada has become a phenomenon-level drama at the end of this year. It has caused topics all over Asia and being the top ten international rankings of Netflix's non-English content. It is a rareJapanese drama in recent years that has started so many discussions: The storyline seems a bit ordinary and even consists of old fashion elements like amnesia, long distant love, poor daughter-in law etc, all these things are so predictable but why is it still so attractive? At the very beginning, the high altitude overhead shot on the big roundabout is a metaphor for our life. We always miss what we missed out like our first love. That can explain why people are so indulged in this drama as the lost is the most cherished.
Two songs First Love and Automatic together with the mints, ice cream sodas, and CD player appeared in the play being the strongest collective memories of my generation. I'm impressed about the delicate shooting skills, the visual arts are amazing too!
Black Bird (2022)
Sad but true
The story is really disturbing, but luckily the director doesn't use violent way of telling the story. Instead, through acting and script, I feel sadness of all unfortunate happenings, particular getting tears in eyes when watching Jessica Roach's narration. Its so uncomfortable, but the script is exactly what the world we live in really looks like. How bad of a person that makes a drug dealer flesh creep, I can find an answer from this story!
Paul Walter's acting is impressive. I believe he makes incredible research to figure out the behavior and create a convincing picture. A minor thing, just wondering how Taron can set his hairdo in a prison, it's kind of unrealistic.
Nope (2022)
Party monster
I can't believe why it gains such high rating! Is it based on the trailer? The acting is terrible, most of the time the irritated sister is shouting. The story is simple but it drags so so long. I try being very focus at the very beginning but it ends up nothing horror and mysterious. After one hour, the brother, sister and their fd start the shooting plan, and an old man keeps murmuring! It takes up an hour for all these to happen.... OMG! Next, the most funny part is the party thing saves OJ life. The ending is even more unbelievable about inflatable doll vs flying sauce. I keep laughing for five minutes.
Overall, it's just like a teenage on adventure TV series rather than a thriller.
Heojil kyolshim (2022)
Very boring one!
Not sure if I'm watching the same movie as like other high rating viewers! The story is so flat and so so slow. I look forward to any special or mysterious elements but it ends up nothing coming up. I love Tang Wei and understand her extra effort in speaking Korean but it can't save the movie!
Wu sha (2019)
Great acting
The more empathy you feel for the strong dad, the more hatred you feel about the monster mon! Both characters are set up as cat and mouse but their acting are unbelievable brilliant. Compared to the original, the content has more layers as well as full of metaphors and twists.
Wu sha 2 (2021)
Underrating one!
Though the main storyline is predictable, the ending is more impressive and touching. Xiao Yang acts as a father who can demonstrate his hysterical compassion as good as the original John Q. The whole movie has elements in both emotional concentration and entertaining as a crime movie.
Feng zhong you duo yu zuo de yun (2018)
Love and sadness
It's not a typical chasing murder movie. Instead the director puts so much efforts to tell a meticulous story which means a lot, not just some complicated relationships but also how a country goes through the past 30 years. At the end of the movie, it flashbacks two women's destiny with Wong Kit's song 'love and sadness' that is so distressing !
Overall, the visual art is nice but the thing i can't bear with is the handheld shots is too dizzy.
Doctor Lawyer (2022)
Unbelievable
Not blaming the storyline is illogical as many Korean dramas are beyond our imagination. Top hospital in-charge steals a heart and passes it to so-called VIP guest from the patient who just done well in the cardiothoracic surgery. All this happens in a night! Indeed, the top in-charge can grasp the heart with his power and networking instead of giving it to normal patient, and taking it back then transferring to VIP, its hard to believe it! Then, how come a so-call elite and smart doctor is being trapped once and once again! And both key actor's acting are terrible, I can't bear the doctor's affectionate and sad eyes as well as the prosecutor with an anger look and voice!
Lie ri zhuo xin (2015)
Good vs bad guy!
Are they bad people with unforgivable sin? It seems that it is impossible to say so particular the unconditional love they give away to Tail. However, are they good people with conscience? Or they just want to redeem their original sin. So human nature is complex, and good and bad are not obvious and absolute. All in all their acting is convincing.
Ni bu-mo eol-gul-i bo-go sip-da (2022)
Very heavy story!
It's a heart broken story and let us see the human ugliness! I believe such bullying happens in the real life. The turning point in the movie is 'harm set harm get' when the lawyer's son being the target and framed by other three fathers. After going through this incident, the lawyer regrets about making perjuries. In the end things won't change he is still the selfish one who won't face his son's problem and give up every chance for redemption. Sol Kyung-gu's acting is so amazing and convincing!
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Totally overrated!
I have a high expectations of this movie not only the high rating but also with positive reviews about its creativity and implication. I end up getting a sound sleep at the last half hour. It starts off not that bad with developing some funny characters but then it get lost with having just a single plot about a woman's head splitting. This scene pops up over hundred times which becomes a kind of nuisance and chaos.
