If you take Uncharted as a stand-alone movie it was an enjoyable enough action adventure treasure hunt story. But when comparing the movie to the video game franchise it really doesn't hold much water.
The action was fun to watch, the plot was pretty decent, and it was a good treasure hunt style movie. Unfortunately, Uncharted was always more than that as a video game, there was depth to characters, deep historical background (tied into the game and not real life), and intricate puzzles that made the game so compelling. You don't really have much of that in this Uncharted movie.
I thought Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg did a fine job playing a duo of con-men in search of a treasure, but really didn't capture the characters they were portraying. Wahlberg as Sully was very disappointing, again he did a fine job in the movie, but he was nothing like the character he was portraying. Holland was a little closer in his portrayal of Nathan Drake than Wahlberg was in his portrayal of Sully, but it still felt short for me and played as a generic character in a generic action movie.
