A captivating tale told with zero dialogue, simply a cast of CGI animals that (for the most part) act like animals. There are some more human moments for each of the animals, but this is a movie made for humans afterall.
Something that struck me was that this movie lacked the extreme detail of most American made CGI films where they pump a quarter of a billion dollars into shining up a turd. Yet even with it's rather simple, flat animation style, it was exceptionally beautiful in it's execution. It's a shining example of how a movie with a smaller budget and a whole lot of heart and ingenuity can outshine the big studios' high budget low effort nonsense.

I really am not a fan of what they've turned Deadpool into at this point. The first movie was alright, the second movie was bad, this one is just bad with a budget.
When you strip away all of the silliness, all of the dick jokes and juvenile attempts at humor, there's still a movie underneath. And while this movie pretended to be something new, something fresh, something on the outside looking in, it was just a standard Marvel movie playing out the same tired beats. The big climactic ending is almost identical to the ending of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Ryan Reynolds has just become unsufferable to me, and I think that's what this comes down to. If you're one of the people who finds that overgrown 6 year old funny because he said "poop" or whatever, this movie is for you. If you find him as obnoxious as I do and feel his massive ego bleeding through everything he does, you'll hate this.

I first heard of Ike White about 15 years ago when a friend found his album. This friend was notorious for making things up, so when he started going off about Ike White's back story I rolled my eyes and said "yea sure". Through this documentary I was amazed to find that he was not only underselling the story, but the only thing he was wrong about was Ike's death (at least at the time).
This documentary started out about where I was expecting, the background of Ike's early life and the recording of his one album. But where it wound up going really took me by surprise, as well as the filmmakers I'm sure. The guy really had talent, but couldn't quite harness it constructively.
The film doesn't exactly nail down the absolute truth, but rather basks in the mysteries and uncertainties about Ike's life that will never be known. He was an enigmatic person, definitely had some demons he could never shake, left a lot of hurt in his wake, but he lead a full life for better or for worse.
