Alex Nigo's slaughterhouse-scrappy cat and mouse chase thriller nails the art of the kill in Passages of Nexus. Unfortunately, it's too long, too disjointed, and more like a vision board of ideas that never find their connective tissue. Nexus earns points with extreme practical gore effects and a dedication to making its audience wince. It's stark and cold in some ways, but loose and playful in others, with cutaways indicated through perfectly pitched dark humour. Pushing its nastiest elements a little further might have made it more permanently rattle the soul, but POA will still leave you suitably shook up.
A hilarious pilot that can be seen on YouTube for the time being. Andy Blithe makes an amazing comedy short with a great ensemble cast such as Jules Maxine, Aaron Sharp and of course Blithe himself, playing a David Brent type character who loves the camera on him. He puts on some sort of persona that he thinks he's Roger Moore (genuinely a line from the pilot)
Good films are made in Norwich, and Blithe captures the beautiful look of the Norfolk city and the culture around it. I wish there is a second episode or some sort of continuation for the series as it was legit funny and filled with creativity.

For a low budget film this worked out alright in my books. Why all the hate? However there are some colour correction issues throughout the course of the story, some photography is a bit poor here and there, and some of the actors could've done better. But I'm glad I watched it for how much they worked hard to make this come alive, and you can see that, with passion and desire.
