I lived in Oceanside for 4 years. I watched the scene where Pope and Deran go to the building to evict the guy and the shootout happens. It took at least 8 hours to film that 5 minute scene but was so cool to watch. The stunts (which the actors did) and the shooting and the multiple takes were all so entertaining. Such a great production. Saw Shawn Hatosy close up, he walked right by me. I wanted to get an autograph or photo but he was in THE ZONE so I didn't bug him. We can't wait to see how this series ends but MAN I'm gonna miss it so much. I now live in Texas and love my new home but I MISS OCEANSIDE and the beautiful beach and area so so much. I used to ride my bike on tbe Strand almost daily and passed Baz's house hundreds of times. I also saw them building the skate ramp and I've been at the building that is Derans bar. Lots of great memories and I will rewatch many times just to see my old hometown agian.
I adore Derek Hough. Julianne also but Derek for all the OBVIOUS reasons. Man is he dreamy. What I love about him is also what I love about this special. He is a throwback to a time when men were sexier, suaver, and oh so fabulous. I am also a fan of ALL the old Hollywood musicals. I WISH HOLLYWOOD STILL MADE THESE! Enough with the Superhero crap and some garbage... Let's revitalize real artistic expressions and dancing and singing. I would watch unlimited episodes or movies like this.... I want to see them pay homage to The Sound Of Music, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Xanadu, etx. Moulin Rouge is my all time FAVORITE MUSICAL EVER.... I would LOVE to see all the numbers done by Derek and Julianne. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE THESE 2 THEIR OWN WEEKLY VARIETY SHOW... a la Donny and Marie in the 70's!
I am a HUGE Nic Cage fan from WAYYYYYY BACK when he did Valley Girl (one of my all time favorite movies). I even stalked him once in LA and also ran into him at a mall in LA but was too overwhelmed to get his autograph... so my boyfriend did. Anyhoo.... I've seen just about every movie he's done and I love his style. So OF COURSE I was stoked to see this.. Cage can really poke fun at himself. It's funny, silly, weird, referential, and sweet. I loved it. I am hoping Nic Cage comes back in a big way.
