Problem Child is a 90s comedy film that revolves around the terrifyingly naughty child Junior, who loves blue color but hates clowns. He has been returned by his adopted parents 30 times, such is his level of naughtiness. The film is about his 31th parents who adopts him but doesn't abandons him instead try the practical moral values. Yes, they love him when he is bad. They love him even when he is worse and that attitude finally changes him towards the ending. However the film is not entirely upon morality but on the mischief done by Junior, with moral lessons to be learned in the sidelines.
Junior is naughty, without question but he is not inherently devil in disguise. He seem to reflect in naughty ways to those who offend him in one way or the other. Perhaps he is reflective to the hatred of the world where peace love and wisdom have less significance. But his adopted father choose to make a difference who impacted him. That's the film in message perspective.
Apart from that the film is average in execution with mischief clearly and brutally depicted so much so that you will laugh with tears and will remember fir life. The film has a story with definite start and end and imbibed messages with lots of fun moments. It's a film about a child but don't watch it with family. That's where the director is rightly chosen the title-- Problem child.
I saw it in 90s itself but reviewing it due to flashback of my memory which amazed me with it's funny moments in those times. Finally it's an entertaining film, with entertainment as its intention. So don't be serious with it. It is an 8 from me. A 75 on a scale of 100.

The Mummy is a definite entertainer mostly from horror genre where entertainment, adventure, the ancient mysteries plays the heavy role than the fearsome taste. It's a journey into the ancient secret world deemed as treasure by modern standards where guns, bullets, explosives, swords, horses and idealistic traits all fused together. I saw it in its released year but reviewing it now after almost 25 years. But still it entertains me, still amazes me with all its captivating visuals plus the BGM and also some spooky moments of bugs eating up people. The film is well framed intended to provide almost all the taste of genres combined. You will definitely feel the happy ending right from the beginning.
Brendan Fraser is tough guy with soft corner for Rachel Weisz because she saved his neck. Her brother is the dominant comic role throughout, who even help them unthinkably but in comic sense. The guy with black dress is an added treat to the positive vibe. All these characters unite to fight the greatest evil, Imhotep who was of course bought back to this world by Rachel- Nothing harm came from reading a book. Arnold Voslo well acted as the passionate lover turned bad guy who would do anything to bring his lover back. There are scenes that spans knowledge hunting, chasing and fighting, fireworks, lies and cheating and ever predictable climax of the villain. The ugliest character of the film is that of Fiennes who is greedy, ungrateful and selfish at the same time. His ending is justified, so dark that it was kept even in darkness for viewers. And finally the bugs.... they gave me the chills on my first watch.
The film has some message too, greed ends in terrible darkness. The scenery of Hamunaptra is quite exotic to imagine as the crew bought to the screen with all its glories and treasures. The romantic angle is placed appropriately too which has strong role in both hero and villain's perspectives. The film provides us the fun ride with many myths, magic and spells being unfolded in a story of an Egyptian adventure, where love is at the center.
The sequels were not engaging as this and it would be the best of all it's franchise until well, Steven Spielberg decides to re make it to make it to a masterpiece. An 8/10. An 83/100.

Angel's and Demons is an adrenal stirring thriller depicting homicides in cathedral that involves science on one hand and faith on the other. It showcases the attempt to resurrect the old war between science and religion with almost success with twists and turns throughout. It shows who is Angel and Demon in exact sense, surpassing the stereotypical views of society. It covers the areas of science politics and religion in conflict with one another and the true nature of the characters involved in it. I liked that very much.
Ron Howard visualizes the war instigating situation in suspenseful way, knitting well the subplots spanning several areas. The film of course requires the brilliancy in following the steps of the script, word by word. Some may not follow it. I somehow followed the script and so felt that the film delivered what it intended to deliver despite the lacking of maestro narratives. I have ignored the book adaptation and emphasized upon the film itself.
Robert's strategy in finding the culprit is brilliant and interesting. The actress is intelligent and decent too, carefully scripted to fit in a catholic theme. The story is too well framed- The Culprit decides to murder 4 cardinals upon 4 altars of science and detonating a bomb of cataclysmic power on the Vatican itself starting from 8 at night with the aim of resurrecting the old war. The mission is to search the cardinals and save the Vatican from that bomb. Ewan McGregor is the show stealer of the film. He is the unpredictable person who could be most brilliant and most foolish person at the same time. There are few flaws in the film but I ignored that. It delivers the thrills and the messages too. The statement - "Beware of them, they are the men of God" is still my favorite, has truth in multiple levels.
The film fastly progresses through several subplots imbibing thrills after thrills which finally ends in simple note--Don't Lie. The demons lie and the innocents are harassed for that. The film depicts the well known idea that an Angel doesn't need to be a member of Church to be an angel. And the same goes for the Demons too. It's nevertheless a bold film where some cardinals are shown smoking and many aspects of the catholic church but praiseworthy for its justified ending where goodness triumphs upon evil. Apart from that the film is visually stunning and intellectual to say the least. A brilliant suspense in a nutshell. An 80/100.
