I am in agreement with one reviewer regarding Rebecca Fergusen. She was introduced from the third installment and she fit in perfectly. It seemed like the love interest between. Ethan and Lisa would develop into a steady feature, and then boom they just kill her off in this disaster of installment.
And to make it even worse it seems like she is replaced by Atwell's character. This is so bizarre to me. I suspect Fergusen wanted out of the franchize to pursue her career with more flexibility or something.
I have to get this off my chest. I like Simon Pegg. He is great in British comedy especially when he doubles with Frost. He was OK in. Mission Impossible III frankly because he did not have many scenes and much dialogue. But having him in a more active role from MI 4 I thought was stupid and extremely irritating.
His lines are so pathetic it is unbelieveable. As for Wing Rhames I like the guy. He was superb in Pulp Fiction, but the guy is really getting old and it is time he hung up his boots from the franchize. I Anyway I am not really looking forward to part 2 of this installment when it comes out next year.

This is even more annoying than the second one. The only good thing about the second one was Amber Valetta! The villainess seriously annoyed me, oh and when she licked Statham on the face I just wanted to puke!
Well in this third installment indeed there is another seriously annoying character and it's freckle features the package Valentina! She just annoyed the crap out of me. When she was flirting with Statham and she asked him is there something wrong with me? I shouted yes! Your freckles! To the TV screen.
Anyway the whole concept of the trilogy is ridiculous and far-fetched. I don't know maybe I'm just an old bore, but these three movies were not Statham's best moments.

Reading why Thomas Jane turned down the role, I have to agree with him. Ray Stevenson, may he rest in peace, was a great actor and he did do his best in the role of the punisher in this sequel, but the script writers did very poorly.
The movie reminded me very much of Michael Keaton's Batman movie with Jack Nicholson as the joker. It was comical and yet violent.
The Punisher with Thomas Jane was far better than this one. And yes the Punisher movie/s should be all about punishing bad people, like the Equalizer for example.
Like I said Ray did a great job of what he was given but to me the first installment with Thomas as the hero and Travolta as the villian superceded this one by far.
