Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: Papa (2022)
Dang, those feels
By the end of the episode, you begin to realize: dang, I think I might be living through a historic moment in television with season 4. All the right feelings, at all the right moments, entertaining, great characters.
I'm having to force myself to stop and take a break before I watch the finale because already I'm in that feeling I get when I am so enthralled by a piece of television I can't think about much else.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
Don't skip the credits
Came here just to say, the orchestral Kate Bush cover overplayed after the end scene is just a beautiful moment to enjoy and absorb a phenomenal episode. Don't let the Netflix auto play ruin it.
AJ and the Queen (2020)
A bit...odd...but it finds its way midway through
Not going to lie there were a few things that irked me when I began watching to the point I almost gave up entirely. AJ is an odd juxtaposition against Ru and it sometimes struggles to find the right balance of comedy and feel-good. And this is NOT Drag Race, and I admit I couldn't quite figure out the target audience. All around a bit of a head scratcher as to just...why?
Though about five episodes in it began to click. The feel good buddy adventure begins to make sense, and they saved the best drag queen guests for later episodes.
Don't go in expecting Drag Race and feel free to skip the first 4 episodes or so, and you might be entertained, and Rupaul's charm holds the whole show together in a weird way.
Maniac: Utangatta (2018)
A phenomenal release after an at times confusing journey
I admit by this point in the journey I was growing a bit exhausted (especially after Owen's hawk transformation) though the way this episode deals with closure is one of the most touching moments I have seen in television in years. I admit: I laughed, I cried, I felt things that TV hasn't made me feel in a long time.
