Brooke D'Orsay gives a great performance in this. She has great chemistry with everyone in the cast and her warmth really shines through. This isn't the first film I saw her in, far from it, but it is the first time I really "saw" her and realised how wasted her potential is on all the "assembly line romances".
As far as the plot is concerned, I had a problem with some stuff towards the end but, all in all, it is good and entertaining. This will be one of those films that I will rewatch several times, just to enjoy some scenes again.
Both leads are great, supporting cast is good, and the plot has zero idiotic and artificial "twists", unlike the great majority of romances.
Worth watching!

This could have been called anything, they shouldn't have used the name of Perry Mason, but they obviously needed a "hook". It's just another kind of clickbait.
I hoped that I found something I can relax to, an old fashioned murder mystery. Instead, this is another dark, senseless, snail-paced trap. It uses the pretext of a murder investigation and draws it out over months, adding irrelevant scenes until something that should have been finished in an hour's episode takes a season. There is almost no plot, just holes. The original Perry Mason and similar series were light entertainment, we didn't need to know about the personal lives of everyone involved. It wasn't relevant for what the show was. Now every show has to keep you hooked, not through quality writing or solid, logical plots, but through cheap tricks.
The 4 stars are for the actors. They are good, do their job well but it's not their fault the script is bad.
