Anyone expecting a masterpiece is misguided and will be sorely disappointed. However, the one star reviews are absurd. So, you didn't like it. That doesn't, to me warrant a one star. That is reserved for absolute trash films like Manos or any number of shot-in-the-backyard kind of films.
Sure, this movie is completely unoriginal and the script is weak. But, it is entertaining and fast paced. It is well shot with some actually beautiful underwater sequences at times. The acting is solid and better than a lot of B-movies, but still nothing great. You can tell the actors were actually trying and not just phoning it in. They seemed to genuinely be doing the best they could with the generic dialogue.
There are some really good set pieces and sequences and the sets are actually really good for a low budget movie. The lighting in particular is very effective in a lot of the scenes and does build a bit of mystery and genuine suspense at times.
It is by no means a perfect or great film, but it is a fun cave-underwater-creature feature that is worth a one time watch. It definitely is above a one star movie in every regard. I put it solidly at a 5. It's unoriginal and sometimes the dialogue isn't great, but the production value is there and the commitment from the cast plus some actually thrilling action sequences make this better than a lot of B movies out there.
It's ridiculous and stupid at times, but there is more than enough here to get some entertainment out of.

This is a very novel concept, following the killer, but it just did not work. If you want something the same vein I would recommend Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer or Behind the Mask. Both movies have a similar concept where you follow the killer rather than the victims, but where those succeeded, this film failed. The previous mentioned movies do a good job of getting you into the psyche of this deranged killer and it's a fun ride to follow and a welcome twist. The main characters have an allure and charisma that not only engages, but let's you see why they are able to convince their victims they are to be trusted before offing them. It's a fun cat and mouse game and because you're invested in the characters there is actual tension. You're not sure if you want the killer to succeed or the victim to live.
This movie follows a lifeless, slow moving Jason Voorhees stand in that is just boring to watch. One of the only slashers where I kept wishing we would focus MORE on the stupid teenagers and see them get their end. It's 90% boring, slow walking, mind numbing nothing and about 10% actual fun.
It's a great experiment and I genuinely thought it would be captivating as a horror fan. Sadly, it just ends up being incredibly tedious and boring. No scares, because you know where the killer is at all times. Some good gore and one really inventive kill, but because you knew it was coming there is zero scares or even tension at all.
I applaud the filmmakers for trying something new and the setting and cinematography are beautiful, the effects well done, but it just doesn't work overall. A Jason Voorhees is not the killer to follow. Slow and lumbering for 90 minutes is not fun to watch and the scares and tension are non-existent.

Since the only review on these episodes seems to be one person giving them all 8 or 9 with no actual review, just a generic synopsis, here is a review.
The first story is actually really good. It isn't horror driven, but it is well acted with some genuinely great writing and acting. The overall story is fun with a few spooky shots and moments, but overall it is more of a romance/horror. It plays way down on the slapstick that ruins several segments. There really were only a few instances where comedy overtook the story. The ending was satisfying and worked very well. Overall, though not really horror at all, it's one of the best segments of the 4th season.
The second segment is very good as well. Though, it is pretty redundant of some other haunted or cursed games, it is well acted and interesting throughout. No real scares here either, but again, at least they don't try to replace it with obnoxious 'humor'. It's another one that is more drama and character driven, like the first segment, but it actually works quite well. And will remind any 80's or early 90's child of those old NES, Sega or Nintendo games that are almost impossible to beat and people, to this day are still trying to complete. Overall it is enjoyable. We don't get any gore or real scares, but it is an enjoyable segment with some heart.
Overall one of the more enjoyable episodes in season four despite the lack of horror.
