Bath Salt Zombies (2013)
Zombies weren't the only ones on bath salts.
How in the world am I gonna pull 10 lines out for this review? Probably the same question the writer & director said when they got a hold of a camera & had to come up with real lines & a script. All I can think of is, Well when you give an 8th grader a movie camera & ask them to go out & make a movie, this is what happens, Actually these kids today are pretty slick & would probably have done a better job all the way around. I'll go ahead & do this review simply because I wouldn't want anyone to endure the 70min of mind waste this movie provided. I kept thinking the whole time.... If Zombies were real.. This is what kind of movie they would make. And how in the word did it get a 3.1 rating? I would have a hard time giving it a 0.1. This is one movie that won't be making it into my Z collection,
Tasmanian Devils (2013)
Def Worth Watching
I watched this one last night & it kept me & the wife entertained, the story line wasn't all that bad. The action scenes start right off the bat so get your popcorn & drinks before the movie starts or you'll miss a great opening scene that will make you say whoa, wasn't expecting that & did that happen right from the start? The CGI was not all that bad either, some shots of the devils were pretty obvious FAKE but some scenes were pretty good as well, we certainly didn't turn the movie off. The acting was pretty good as well. The actors helped you believe & get into the movie as well. Just keep in mind that this is a B-Movie from SYFY & enjoy. Def a 3-4 rating.
Blood Moon (2014)
Not a bad B-Movie
Well I was happy to sit back tonight excited about getting two movies wrapped up in one, I love a good Western & I love a good werewolf movie. Two birds with one stone right?
This movie was a bit slow on the start & I was close to turning it off, especially with all the in depth "Slow dragging" chattering going on in the bar, but my other half is like me & loves Vamp's, Zombies, werewolves & Westerns.. So she said give it a minute more. We knew the director was letting us get to know the characters, although I thought that they spent a little to much time on that side of the story considering this was involving werewolves & we knew that the actors would not be excepting any Oscar's.
When the action started after the moon rose it did get a bit better & get a bit more interesting. Downfall was it was a bit dark & they didn't have a lot of the werewolf on the screen, reminded me of the old movies that mostly showed shadows moving here & there, and having you squint to try & make out what you thought you may have or may not have seen or what your wanting to see. Not a big deal since the music score was right & timing was right when it did appear.
My whole take on this film is if you like a fair B-Movie with Cowboys, Outlaws, Werewolves & it's a rainy Saturday, get some popcorn, relax but keep in mind this is just that & you will enjoy this movie. I would say it's a high 3 or 4. Watchable again? Yes
Jesse James: Lawman (2015)
Not even a good Saturday afternoon rain out movie
I love Westerns & actually almost any genre of B-Movies on a Saturday rain out when I am not on my horses but.. "NO". This movie did have two good actors in it but once I saw the "YOUNG JESSIE" I was wanting to see more of Kevin & Fonda during the movie, they were the only two who could have carried this story but were simply not utilized correctly & very little. So again even at a worse case scenario I expected a good rainy Saturday movie when I saw their names. The story line seemed good on paper for a good B-Movie but couldn't pan out on screen. Even the action scenes were hard to watch as the actors didn't seem to be tough enough to play the parts of the real life tough guys they were trying to portray. Again Kevin or Fonda should have been used more. I wouldn't go out & say I want my 77.min of life back but this video will never make it to my Western collection I have amassed.
