Dune: Part One (2021)
Extremely boring
Monotonous scenes. Many incomprehensible details. A heavy depressing plot. Almost 3 hours long. Great stars don't make this better. A challenge to stay.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
A sadistic show about mass murdering, artistically produced
It's just paradoxically unbelievable how many people give this perverse show high points and praise it for being well done! And that it has become that popular just after only several weeks!
Westworld (2016)
Highly promising in the beginning and absolute trash in the end (season 1)
The tricky and deep philosophy in the main idea is brilliant and motivating to both ask basic life questions and to clearly see new perspectives on consciousness and being. Without even mentioning an outstanding story telling structure and the great actors' performance, it is just necessary to say that by the end of the 1st season the story is getting not only more and more perverse and primitive but simply disappointingly boring. The only striking motive that stays is ever growing violence, which can only make one mentally ill.
Midsommar (2019)
Definitely not a horror or mystery film.
This is a boring thriller. Nothing mysterious about it. Only murders from a different perspective - the one of a sect. A very long and sometimes tiresome movie, where you just don't leave because they promised you a horror film. And it doesn't begin. The only good thing about it: a good camera work, colors and the picture in general. But if the story doesn't work, the picture won't work either. Wasted time. Bad emotions. Definitely one of the worst movies I have seen in my life.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Spectacular, shallow and boring
So many years of preparation and so many millions invested. The result? A lot to see and just to get bored from a story that is just another story to forget and nothing to learn from.
Joyeux Noël (2005)
An excellent movie!
I was sceptical before watching this film but by the end I had tears running down my cheeks.
By depicting the feelings and destinies of the soldiers, the film demonstrated the absurdity of war and how each soldier is more than a mere cannon target. It is a commentary on the utter stupidity of politics governing war events from behind curtains while not actually experiencing the real war. By depicting a unique event in European war history that occurred on Christmas day 1914 it shows viewers that Europeans can be as one even as "enemies".
About ten years ago I watched Paul McCartney's video "Pipes of Peace" and thought that what it depicted was completely fictitious--nothing more than pacifists' dreams. I have now learned that it was true.
