I'm going to keep this brief. I'll just make a few points!

I liked it a lot. I'm very big on locations, & this was able to bring this old brooding world alive. It felt lived in. It didn't feel filmed on a set.

This is big for ME, others may not care... the sex. I get so tired of sex in horror, especially graphic sex. I am so happy to be able to say, it's implied more than shown. If anyone worries if they can watch with family or whatever due to that awkwardness? I'd say it's pretty safe. Even the topless scene, her hair covers her. I'm very conservative, but I'd be willing to let my 16 yr old nephew watch it. The gore may be another issue though lol

The monster. I'm a sucker for any cool monster design. They did a really good job here! The voice is apparently all natural/real too, and his voice gives off an aura of power, & ancient knowledge. I almost had a feeling of him as some ancient dragon.

I waited about 9 months for this film, & overall I'll say.... I wasn't disappointed. I do think we could've gotten more with Orlock, and I kinda selfishly wish he was like 12 feet tall haha. But...

If you're a horror buff, if you're into monster films, or non-traditional (which oddly, this traditional vampire is no longer the norm) vampires? I think you'll enjoy it.

Lilly Rose Depp was actually AMAZING!!!! I was worried removing Anna Taylor Joy would've been a big mistake ... Lilly killed it!

If this were American, it would be lucky to have a 4.5 rating. I don't get why people always over rate foreign horror & speak about it like some breakthrough - this is a story AS BASIC as it gets. Very 2005 horror era. Even unashamedly borrows a good bit straight from THE RING.

The CGI is absolutely horrible. It looks like they hired the guys who do SCYFY channel films!!

The acting was fine, especially the little boy was a standout... but overall this wasn't anything special AT ALL. It's been done, & done to death...

Speaking of CGI, oh boy was it bad... why the movie chose to make bugs a main theme... no clue, because the bugs look HORRENDOUS!

As for the story...?

A group of adults return to where they experienced trauma, only to find out the monster they thought they left behind is still there... anyone heard this before?

Yeah. It's not a BAD movie... but again, had this been American? It would be lucky to get 4.5 stars. Please stop handling foreign horror with kid gloves. Other countries are absolutely capable of making great horror ... so let's stop setting the bar so low.

Also see tons of comments talking about how it never lets up... the first 45 minutes, nothing happens.

Best moment of the film was in the trailer btw, always a big letdown.

Story - 4/10 Acting - 6/10 Effects - 2/10.
