Sealed with a List (2023)
Great actors with genuine chemistry!
After watching at least a dozen Christmas movies this year, I finally found one where the lead actors had real, believable chemistry. We all know how most of these stories are going to end, but this one felt different. The acting was very good, and they played off each other so well. Like another person said, it was refreshing to see actors that didn't look like Barbie and Ken. They were beautiful, but not in the stereotypical way. I would really enjoy seeing them do another movie together!
If you are looking for a good one to watch, I would highly recommend this one. I believe it will be worth your time.
Wentworth (2013)
Extremely Addictive!
I loved OITNB and I don't want to say one is better than the other. They are both great. I thought OITNB was a little comedic at times and focused a lot on the sexual behaviors . I think Wentworth tells more about the drama surrounding certain characters from in the prison to the outside. Their efforts to make it on the streets when they are released. How hard it can be to survive. The acting is superb. Especially Nicole da Silva, Kate Atkinson, Danielle Cormack... forget it, this list is way too long. All of the acting is wonderful. Special mention goes to Pamela Rabe. She would scare the hell out of me if I ran into her! I have watched 61/2 seasons so far and I can't get enough. I know, coming from a long history of working in corrections, that some of it is a little far fetched. Get over that. It is fiction. There are some surprises worth waiting for! I would highly recommend watching this series!!
Criminal: UK (2019)
Love The Unique Concept! And, Season 2 was Worth the Wait!
This comment may be considered a spoiler.....Okay, so I thought the first season of the four series were very good, so I was anxiously awaiting Season 2's arrival. Well, The U. K. certainly did not disappoint! All episodes are extremely well acted, but I have to point out "Alex". I have never watched a show, then restarted it immediately to watch again. I did that with this episode because the ending was so explosive I felt it was necessary to go back and watch with a completely different mindset. It didn't hurt that it was Kit Harington on screen, either! What a thought provoking episode. It makes you rethink the whole "heavily weighted towards" idea for either side! How easily a life can be ruined either by being the victim of rape, or the victim of the false accusation. As an added bonus, It was fun to see Kit play a character so completely different from Jon Snow! Excellent work by all!
Below Her Mouth (2016)
Very explicit, however not unnecessarily...
I have read a lot of the reviews, and although I agree, somewhat, I still liked this movie very much. In my opinion, the acting was raw, but it fit the storyline perfectly. Erika was making her first movie, so she wasn't Meryl Streep, but that was what I liked so much. It felt like you were watching the real deal. Sometimes nervous, sometimes imperfect, a little awkward, not always saying the right things in the "perfect tone". But, the chemistry and the emotion all seemed so believable and real. Both actresses conveyed their emotions wonderfully. I was completely mesmerized by how well they were together. Yes, the sex scenes were explicit, but they were not just thrown in there to sell the movie. The scenes were realistic, emotional, and necessary to show the incredible connection they were building. No spoilers...the only complaint I have is the same as others...the ending could have been explored a little more. I would watch a sequel to find out more!
I would highly recommend this movie. The bonus is you get to watch Erika Linder, who is absolutely beautiful.
