The Borrowed Christmas (2014)
I don't have a star to give...
This is the most awkward and uncomfortable situation I have ever experienced. Who would ever agree to a situation where a Borrowed Christmas was something a "Rent Shop" would be able to provide. Not to mention the pacing is excruciating. The weird music in the background and a lack of transition from scene to scene is as low budget as you can get. I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel. It's got a weird suggestive relationship going on and I would be happy to never watch this movie again in my life. I can't believe this movie even got made. It'll make you skin crawl but hope that maybe it will get better but then it just doesn't.

Nice Story with a Lack of Heart
The story of two spirit brothers was a different take on many different Chinese cultural animations out there. However, the story wasn't well delivered. In the English dub we have a young girl named Rain, voiced by Bella Thorne who sounds suspiciously older than the girl's mother, voiced by Nicole Kidman. The spirit world doesn't have a logical sense to it. Some minor characters, like Blossom, seem to have little to no significant influence on the story at all. This story has little to no depth and has all the heart of a child's picture book. The most interesting part to me was the Chinese traditions that are so different from my own and I could have gotten that much information from a Google search.
