I've watched the series 7 times. Of all the craziness of The Sopranos, Whitecaps is the pinnacle of the series. The writing, direction and the ACTING! As stated by other reviews, a total clinic! I felt this episode! The scene in Tony's media room still gives me chills! Gandalfini and Falco are so natural and realistic and seems like it was done in one take. We all have a breaking point. These two characters have reached theirs simultaneously. The anger! The pain! Tha scene should be watched and studied by anyone who is taking acting classes! Also, this episode has depth into so many things and perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the series.
I'm a fan of Dark, Glitch, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Killing Eve, Deadwood and an old school Star Trek fan. Totally different concept and I was hooked in immediately! The acting, directing, cinematography and writing are top notch! The suspense is gripping. Yes, it's a slow burn and it works. As I watching, I first noticed the vehicles in the show are all from the late 70's or early 80's. What I thought were cell phones were some wonky looking satellite type phones. The terminals in the office all look old school as well. It was described as a thriller set in the near future. Doesn't look like it to me. Not that I have a problem with it. It's just an observation.
