Master (2022)
This is not a horror movie.
It is an allegory. It is about racism that is still smouldering.
It is not a bad movie but 'selling' a 'drama' movie as a horror, science fiction or whatever type movie is generally not a good idea.
I still liked it, it is smartly written with good performances, but i can imagine others feel 'betrayed'.
The Guardians of Justice (2022)
'Comedy' needs to be added to description.
It is a persiflage on comics and comics based films. But not derogative. You get all the impossible superpowers, dubious plot twists en blood spatter. I like good superhero movies and this is ok. Just let it flow.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
A serious case of bad scenario.
Ok, the movie is well made, the budget also, but this is a potpourri of about every film cliche available.
You got:
Batman (ofc), Conan the Barbarian, Escape Room, A Christmas Caroll, Bullit, House md (the case of the curious spine), Armageddon

The Dark Knight (2008)
Overrated.
I just looked at the most recent reviews: all 10's.
So this is gonna hurt.
You have:
1. Drama films. Those are serious.
2. Superhero films. They are not serious, that means there are no real Batmans or Supermans.
So it is a bad idea to make a drama with superheroes.
I read the comics too. Same thing.
Superheroes are fun, not drama.
Batman & Robin (1997)
One of the best spoofs ever.
Come on people. Does someone even think Airplane! is a serious disaster movie.
This is one of the best comical movies ever. I laughed so hard. And Schwarzie is super.
Les petits meurtres d'Agatha Christie (2009)
Very funny adaptation.
I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie. Read them all and watched (nearly) all the TV-shows.
This one I discovered quite 'accidentally'.
These episodes are very loose adaptations of the original Agatha Christie stories with emphasis on comedy.
There are two 'series'. - The first is with inspectors Larosière and Lampion. - Second with inspector 'Swan' Laurence, his beautiful secretary Marlène and his love/annoyance Alice Avril.
The stories are uncomplicated fun and I love it.
Godless (2017)
Good western but...
...but is is not a Deadwood or Hell on Wheels.
This is a very well made and worth watching contemporary style classical western.
You got the somewhat mysterious good guy (who used to be bad), the very bad bad guy with religious emotional problems, a damsel in distress (with horses) and a sheriff with some issues. Mix that with some feminism, religion and horse-whispering and you got a modern John Wayne movie.
I would give it a 7,5 if i could.
Death Note (2017)
Shame on the manga/anime downvoters
This is actually a very good movie.
I really don't understand people who give it a 1/10 because they think it is not the same as the manga/anime.
I did not know the manga/anime (shame on me) and I like the movie. It is a solid horror movie unlike much of the garbage you see nowadays.
A very good movie with a sub 5 rating because of biassed manga fans. Shame.
