Evil Lives Here: Our Little Sister, the Monster (2024)
So many victims and inter-generational trauma
I doubt Crystal and David have ever gotten an apology from their mother and stepfather. I wonder if they have any guilt over the Legacy that they've left behind. 1 evil daughter in prison for life for killing her own child and a bunch of extremely traumatised children and grandchildren.
David and Crystal are clearly still traumatized to this very day. From experiencing child abuse and watching their nieces and nephew endure the same thing.
Since Heather is the youngest I wonder if both Crystal and David's stepfather is actually Heather's biological father. It would explain why whenever Heather did anything wrong and lied about her siblings abusing her, they got punished instead of her cause the older siblings were not his kids hence he was so quick to come after them and the wife went along for the ride in order to appease and keep her man rather than it being just a case of Heather being the baby of the family ?
The same dynamics come into play with Kareem abusing Heather's children as they were not his and also Heather happily partaking in the abuse in order to appease her man and because the girl was rotten to the core to begin with and was already abusing the kids before Kareem came into her life albeit not to an extreme extent as when Kareem came into her life.
What upsets me the most is that Crystal and David did everything they could in order to protect these kids. There were even willing to take them in and raise them but still they failed because their sister was a master manipulator and the system did not push hard enough. Kudos on Crystal for continuously calling child services on Heather. They might not have been able to save Anthony but they saved the rest of the kids and made sure that both Kareem and Heather stay in prison for life as there was a record of child services being called and that this was not a one-off freakish incident that deserves forgiveness.
Evil Lives Here: He Saved Her Life Then Took It (2024)
So many issues at play here.
Obviously what Chance did was horrible and can never be excused. It was complete overkill as well. However this is a case where I feel like the environment this kid grew up influenced the type of person he became.
Clearly he came from a troubled home, his mother once lost custody of him, the second baby had to be forcefully adopted then she got pregnant again and it doesn't sound like she was stable and also where were the fathers of them kids she kept having.
The sister says that it was all lies that she was abusing drugs etc but then why was Chance taken many years ago and why did child services keep knocking on her sister's door each time she had a child. Sounds like she is indenial. Nita did not sound like a fit parent.
They also say his behavior started changing after he lost his sibling. Clearly that would have been traumatic. Sounds like it all went downhill from them on. I don't think Chance was necessarily born evil but this is a case of nature and nurture working in tandem to create the person he became.
Evil Lives Here: He Asked Me to Be His Hitman (2024)
Good on you Roger !
Oh wow I have listened to this story a couple of times through podcasts but to know the back story is something else. What a real doozy. A sad story indeed. Roger's low self-esteem had him befriending a horrible human. The hope that they were actual friends when Bob never saw him as one and looked down on him. They are some people like Bob who like having someone they believe is inferior to them in their orbit so that they can put them down and feel more better about themselves. Bob was such an awful excuse of a human being from a young age.
I can see why Roger doubted Bob's intention when he first experessed his desire to have him kill the wife and kid. You hope to talk down your friend or drill some common sense into them and that divorce is better and hopefully they won't go through with their murderous plan. Utterly disgusted and shocked that Bob had no qualms with killing other bystander kids as well. He is the devil
Also as for why he didn't say anything? Even if Roger was an upstanding member of the society, it's really hard to just go to the police with just your words and no evidence and expect them to believe that this person who is seen as a family man and an upstanding member of society is planning to do something so horrendous especially if they have not been any prior reports about him and to make matters worse Roger was known for being a dodgy guy. Ain't no way they were gonna take him seriously. If you ask me he was only taken seriously because of the first deaths which the police expected foul play but could not prove it and also their desire to stop more deaths.
It all makes sense why Bob repeatedly chose Roger to hopefully do his dirty work for him. He thought Roger would do anything for money plus if Roger committed such a crime no one would bat an eyelid and if Roger was caught in the act, Bob could easily explain away why Roger did it. That he was a bad violent guy trying to rob people etc. Bob never stopped looking down on Roger and made the mistake of thinking Roger was his lackey.
And to the person above who said Roger is not a survivor, yes he is ! That man was planning to off him next and he can speak about the evil signs cause Roger was connected to Rob from the time they were young to the time he got arrested. He knew that scum very well.
Also since both brothers took out the life insurance on their parents. They ought to look more into the other one as well. Last I heard about this story. The parents supported Bob and refused to believe that Bob could ever do such a thing. I wonder if they still believe their wee innocent little harmless baby was set up by Roger ?
Evil Lives Here: He Used a Chainsaw (2024)
Not the brightest bulb !
Lol the first thing I thought of when I saw William was where is his neck? Hahahaha. Looking like a whole a** cobra
I can't believe that girl proceeded to date and marry a guy who had confessed to her upon their first meeting that he had written a letter detailing his want was to just kill people when he tried to join the military. Yikes, how does one laugh off something like that and choose to date such a person. I reckon she mistakenly thought oooooh he is so edgy so cool cause huh ? Some people lack common sense I tell yah
Letting him convince her that it was the drugs and alcohol that made him do bad things lmao. I can't. Also how can your cat be lost/ missing if the cat's stuff is gone. That means someone took her. Someone who had access to the house, it's pretty evident. Surprised she even made a flyer considering she was living with a psychotic person. Then he proceededed to confess to her that he killed her cat and dumped the cat's stuff in the bin and this girl chooses to not believe him. The old adage "people only see what they want to see" comes to my mind with one.
Ooh and it gets worse! She is an adulterer too. Lol she really want us to believe they did nothing before they decided to ditch their partners for each other lmao who is she kidding. So many bad decisions. Also baffled that she never thought her crazy drug addict ex who was also a burglar and killed her cat might put two and two together and figure out that she was cheating considering how fast she moved on with the "friend" and might potentially retaliate and come for her. To think she gave him all the info for him to come for her and her new man. Wow she really chose not to see a lot of things. Doesn't seem like the brighter bulb.
Good luck to her new man and child. Hopefully she is more discerning and protective and makes better decisions.
Evil Lives Here: She Called To Say I Killed Them (2024)
Doomed from the start
Them poor babies. To have been born and nurtured by such an unhinged monster. Also did the producers really need to replay both those voice messages for that man and have him relive his trauma. I am sure the first one is still deeply embedded in his memory. The moment his life as he knew it ended. The second Jesus. That's just wrong!
On another note obviously Veronica was nuts and clearly had a lot of issues however that relationship was doomed from the beginning I don't think it was ever genuine.
The truth is Veronica's youth is the first and foremost thing that attracted him to her not the hard working single mom thing. He probably ignored a lot of red flags cause this beautiful and much younger woman was willing to give this much older guy a shot. I do not for once believe that her ability to put her kid first as a single mom is what drew her to him first. I mean who is he lying to ? She was only with him for the financial security and being married to an American. While he was blinded by her youthfulness and beauty.
Also cutting hair and dyeing it is nothing alarming. Plenty of women do that all the time. Sounds like he was just bummed out that she had cut her tresses and she no longer had the lighter hair he desired to see on his wife.
Evil Lives Here: I Saw Myself on Tape (2024)
A lack of common sense or was it the money?
She says that there were no signs from the get go. Froom being offered GHB, passing out, not remembering anything and waking up in a strange and unfamiliar place. Anyone with common sense and did not know what GHB was well .... they would not have not have taken it. At the very least one would look up what it is and what it does the very next day especially after having blacked out and missing time and memories. Also where the hell was her sister???
I wonder if the reason why she and her sister chose to ignore this whole incident was because he was a rich dude who promised that he would see her again cause ain't no way.
Many of his actions that she describes to be creepy, odd or a gut feeling or could not put finger on were just plain illegal actions. Like the shower video taping. The partaking of illegal drugs that knock you out. Like ma'am.
Also I can't believe she sat there and said I wonder if he truly wanted to hurt people like the bagillion videos of him sexually violating women and burning then and using weapons to violate is all normal stuff not meant to hurt someone.
Evil Lives Here: He Shot Through My Heart (2024)
Poor parents...
Obviously Nathan was the bad guy and he is the one who chose to take the lives of her parents but man it is always the innocent ones that have zero say in the choices made that get caught in the middle and lose their lives. Some of the victims on the show say I grew up in a dysfunctional home, I knew no better but she grew up in a loving home with a mother who was her best friend and a father who loved her and tried to protect her but she still chose to be with a man who had the exact opposite values to her family. Like that father tried man and failed him and his wife ended up losing their lives.
She was loved and supported by her parents all throughout that pregnancy but she still chose to fight for a man who denied her child from the moment of conception. It never bodes well when a guy who has been sleeping with you denies that child. You are better off getting rid of that child if you can't handle the task of being a parent or better yet write the guy off completely and take the loss.
No good ever comes from trying to convince a heartless person to love their child cause they don't and 99.9% of time they never will love that child and that's why he kept referring to the kids as her kids when it suited him and then back to being his kids when he wanted her back to abuse and control her some more.
I can't believe the court gave that man partial custody after trying to kill his wife. Another case of the justice system failing women miserably. Yes men can be victims too but lord women make up the huge bulk of the victims that end up getting offed by their deranged partners.
Can you imagine the trauma her kids will forever endure from the abuse they suffered from the father and also watching their grandparents and mother getting shot up.
Evil Lives Here: Murder in the House of Prayer (2024)
The herd mentality
Cults can really f-up people's minds. The mother probably believed she was God's messenger granted the way her followers obeyed her like sheep. That poor man who cut off his member cause he had been talked into doing so and believed it was the right thing. Yikes. Thank God people are more aware of cult like behaviour cause the ones in the past were wilding and had some pretty devastating consequences.
However what I amdisappointed in is the silence from the adults, way after she went on a run and the church ceased to exist. None of them came forward to alert police of her crimes and guess what she was still at it. The only difference is that she could not draw too much attention to herself so she was limited to the circle of her grandchildren. That taste of power and using religion as a tool was insatiable for her. Too bad she died too early into her sentence. In one of the mugshots it looks like someone whooped her ass real good for being a baby killer. The fact that she blamed her daughter for turning her in instead of taking responsibility shows the true evil that resided in this woman.
Evil Lives Here: He Brought Roses and A Gun (2024)
My God these aren't even red flags
Jeez. I can't even call the actions that Ray committed giant red flags because these were plain evil acts that any sane person would not even entertain. The way she tries to place some of the blame on other people to soften the blow of her own stupid actions is something else. Of course her mother did not wanna talk to her after the mother had repeatedly tried to tell her and to warn her not to date the guy but she kept lying to her time and time and again
She got pregnant and gave birth and he still treated her like crap and even tried to stab her yet she still wanted him and would do anything to be with him. What was the mother supposed to say and do when you didn't want to hear it. Even after she left her baby with Ray and came back to the horror of all the injuries the baby sustained, from the head injury, broken limbs to the baby's tongue being burned she still do not want to believe he did it.
I wonder if she even vocalised to the hospital staff about who did it. Also her pride to not tell her mother what happened cause she didn't want to hear her say "I told you so" meant that she chose not to assign and leave another relative like the mother to watch over the baby while she showered and took a much needed breath and lo and behold that man came back to try to kill the baby again. Utterly shocking!
Also the justice system extremely failed here. The way they contiously let out that vicious man to continuously inflict damage to children and other black women is shocking. Black women are likely die at the hands of black men than any other demographic because the justice system just do not care when crimes are committed against black women.
I am not sure if this lady is telling the truth about Ray Junior not wanting to to talk to her because he blames her for the death of his own father. Ray Jr surely knows the other people his father killed and also the abuse he himself endured. Something is not adding up here.
Based on her poor decision-making skills I truly wonder what Ray Jr's childhood was like. What other men came into his life and whether his mother ever prioritised him cause we already know she is the type to put her man first before her own child as evidenced by how Ray repeatedly tried to kill Ray Jr from dangling him over the open window and trying to chuck him out of the window and yet she still stayed. I feel sorry for Ray Jr. Child protective services should have taken this baby and placed him in better care.
Also if she is telling the truth, that she tried to warn Teyona. Then wow another mom who failed her child all for the love of this man. I am shocked that she even let that man in the house even after he had viciously murdered her child...... . It seems no matter how much Ray abused these women and their children they still refused to believe he did it even with the truth staring right in the face. So puzzling.
Evil Lives Here: She Hid The Knife In a Toybox (2024)
Poor babies!!
Normally we see male family annihilators when it comes to crime shows and while women are also capable of the same crime stats show that men tend to do this far more than women . A common denominator though is both use their children as a means to an end in the fight to control their partner. They also don't love or really bond with their children. In the case Brandi her not bonding with her first child could have been easily attributed to post natal depression when instead she just was a cold heartless bish to begin with.
The tracking of the phone and wanting to see messages of who he was talking to as well as admitting to stalking him where the biggest red flags ever but he probably saw them as orange flags and should have probably run by then instead of then marrying her and them kids suffering in the end.
The nerve of her to cheat and then kill her kids because her husband did not want to stick around after being cheated on and emotionally abused. She knew them kids were loved at least by him. It was never about him taking the kids away considering she was a paralegal and nothing in her history would have made the judge to rule custody in favour of the husband. She just killed them kids cause how dare her husband walk away from her unfaithful self and move on with his life.
Her mugshot looks like a giant toddler having a major sook. Looks like she never got used to being told no. Glad she survived her suicidal attempt and has to sit there and contemplate what she did to them kids. Prison ain't kind either to baby killers.
Evil Lives Here: Butcher and The Box (2024)
A lot of things don't quite add up.....
First and foremost Gary is the devil here. However Lori defended her husband during his trial and tried to cast doubt on the surviving victim and what was the reason for that.
Her husband terrorised her. Physically and sexually abused her own children and she still thought it wise to let her younger baby brother go with her devil of husband to do God knows what without even warning him of his manipulative tactics and how evil her husband was. The man threatened to kill your own kids if you did not come back so what could have stopped him from killing her own clueless brother. Considering how dangerous and depraved her husband was, why did she not warn her brother.
I actually believe Tim was a rotten egg too and Lori seems to be in denial of this. Tim shot that man in cold blood and it was not even self defence and let's say that Gary lied to him and threatened him etc what was the reason he helped in the sexual assault and kidnapping/confinement of an 18 yr old girl. Tim said nothing about the kidnapped girl and if she did not free herself the torture would have continued and eventually leading to her murder and God knows how many women those 2 would have colluded together to kidnap, rape and kill.
Frankly Lori should have left way earlier. She should have never married that man. I mean she was literally warned by the pastor's wife. At least she should have left when her kids were beaten to a pulp and her ex husband showed her the photos which were evidence right there but nah her daughter had to be sexually abused for her to finally leave. He probably was shocked that she even left cause he had just done about everything to her and the kids and she had never left before. She also took way too much credit for her phone call saving Brooke.
Evil Lives Here: Terror in The Wilderness (2024)
Poor kids.....
Amazed at how the kids fought back considering they had an extremely abusive father and a passive mother who just looked the other way while her kids were being physically and sexually abused. Some boys who have been abused and grow up watching their mothers being abused become abusers and take on the same role as their father. Suprised at how the brothers stood up and challenged the father and helped the sister as well as take her to the police.
I wish the mothers in these situations had more strength to leave or at least try to protect their kids but they just won't. The boys actually left before the mother but she didn't have the self preservation to not only save herself but her babies as well.
Evil Lives Here: Trapped in a House of Torture (2023)
Tamara or Tammy you are one cold B
What in the hell did I just watch? That daughter actually scares me. The way she is so in denial about her mother is utterly shocking. Like I am speechless, utterly speechless. I honestly need a minute........ the language she used to describe what happened to those children was so matter of fact, the way she said "It sucks to hear that this girl was being tortured while I was being doted on", "That duct tape did her in. They suffocated her. Whoever put it on her". So cold, she absolutely lacks any empathy and that is why I think she did turn out to be exactly like her mother. I would keep an eye on that one. Would not want to be her "friend". Who knows how you might end up given what happened to her childhood "friends".
The way she refuses to believe that her mother took in every single one of those kids to groom and abuse them is unbelievable but rather she chooses to blame Ricky who she describes as "that man". A 14 yr old child ?? Her mother literally raped a 14 yr old child and her response was "why didn't he just leave"? What an evil thing to say, she has utterly no sympathy for what Ricky was coerced to do. I think Ricky finally had enough and ran away and refused to come back because he was forced to help kill another person and was also being sexually and emotionally abused and I am guessing the killing was the final straw for him but again Tammy sees him as the catalyst of her mom's change. Nah your mum was always a cold heartless bish just like you are, Tammy. I also do not believe for one second the reason why she did not say anything was because she thought she was next, she just did not care and enjoyed playing with her actual friends while those children who thought she was their friend suffered. She herself said she was never abused, she went to school while the kids in her home were being tortured and chained to the floor, not going to school while she slept like a princess. If she was truly scared of her mother and being next, why did she unfailingly visit her mother for 28 years in jail and why did she take loving pics with her showing their unbreakable bond, linking hands tightly and all. You would think that would be her chance to walk away from her "potential abuser" and stop feeling "scared and afraid" as she claimed.
The fact that even as her mother died of breast cancer she never asked her a single thing about what she did to those kids is telling but hey Ricky is the one to blame for all this right? Her and her mother are 2 of the most odius beings to ever walk this planet.
I am also mad at the cops. This could have been stopped earlier with the black girl, Harriet who escaped and actually told the police what happened but they took the word of a white woman over the word of a black child clearly showing signs of abuse after being found in a ragged state and with no shoes on....typical. I am sure the moment they opened that door and saw that white woman, their opinions were already set. It doesn't even seem like they even did an inspection or checked in on the other kids. To them I am sure they thought how can this eloquent white saviour lady be harming this ghetto black child. That black child stood no chance. It's sad that her testimony was only validated cause another white child died.
And the way Tammy said "good for you" After she heard how Harriet escaped is buffling, really good for you? Same as the response "that's amazing" after she heard of how Luis escaped. Really Tammy ? That's the most appropriate thing she thought to say? I have never disliked a storyller more on this show than this woman.
A damn shame Marie did not get the electric chair that she deserved.
Evil Lives Here: Three-and-A-half Hours of Hell (2023)
Um yeah truly disturbing
One of the most terrifying cases I have ever watched about domestic violence on this show. He was truly a monster and the way he used religion to manipulate her into staying in the marriage wow. The funny thing is had he not been caught and gone through with the affair and had he been more interested in the new lady and if that new lady had been willing to take him and if you factor in the fact that Sean was no longer having sex with the wife I bet you he would have had no qualms leaving her for the new woman yet he loved spouting nonsense about the sanctity of a marriage while busy chatting up women. Typical narcissistic, will use anything they can in order to gain control of you.
I am however utterly shocked at how not only was she told by the marriage counselor not to marry the guy but the guy's own mother told her to run and she still sat there going what do you mean I should run. Parents often cannot see the faults of their own children and if a mother is telling you to run from her own child you would think one would heed that warning. Sometimes people don't have great relationships with their parents however in this case not only did his actions already alarm her but other people apart from the mother told her to not go through with that wedding. Yikes.
I was so frustrated by this lady. At the end of the day she is aware the reason why she ignored so many red flags is because she really just wanted to be in a relationship no matter what cost as long as he did not harm her and she truly was not willing to see anything that would have been a good indicator for her not to marry the guy.
Evil Lives Here: She Knew It Was Goodbye (2023)
Not right from the get go!
Even from a young age Paige acted like she was possessed. She clearly had major mental health issues from the get go but then again plenty of people have mental health issues but they don't commit matricide.
I empathize with the mother because you bring kids out into this world and you wish to take care of them the best that you can and Paige was clearly not a functioning adult based on the fact that she could not hold a job if she ever even had one in the first place and she had to stay with the mother. I think the mother could not imagine kicking her out her becoming homeless because obviously she couldn't take care of herself but had she stepped back like the father did she probably would be alive. Easier said than done though cause it is so easy for men to abandon even their normal and great children without any qualms than a mother to let go of her child even if she is evil, dangerous and extremely messed up..
Evil Lives Here: I Wanted My Father to Die (2023)
Leave for your kids !
Obviously Freddie is the bad guy here but it's so sad to hear the daughter recount how her own mother, instead of leaving Freddie was begging the kids to tell their teachers and school counselors about what was happening than actually her taking a stand and leaving that man. The daughter said that the mother never said anything or never left because she was so afraid of Freddie but damn what about your own children who were constantly under threat of being killed. The women always say I was afraid and also financially I could not leave but i think that's what they tell themselves in order to justify not leaving. Cause every time their abuser ends up being the one who leaves 99% of the time he don't even help financially. I do feel that the financial reason is an easy cop out at not leaving when your husband is threatening to kill you and the kids.
The saddest part the mother actually never left Freddy, he himself left because he got kicked out of the church and most likely was already having an affair with the lady he ended up killing later on. The fact that the daughter even debated having the father killed so that she could escape her horrible life is so sad. I wish these women placed the safety of their kids first cause then they would leave. Men like Freddie are truly the devil.
Evil Lives Here: Murder at Sea (2023)
A bad hand
Talk about being dealt a bad hand. Good god these kids had no chance. Absolutely no chance. Normally I get annoyed by the relatives of the evil person being featured but then poor babies. The trauma of growing up and being told by your own grandmother how your mother was murdered and not being able to trust people because you were betrayed by someone who was meant to protect when you were young and decided to be honest and say something, that trauma must be overwhelming.
The son is the spitting image of his father but he is nothing like his father because he never stopped fighting and doing what's right. Growing up and being shown that it is perfectly okay to murder and that it is perfectly okay to steal, it is a miracle and a wonder that the kids turned out to be the very opposite. I am glad even as decades passed he never gave up on trying to nail his father. Good job and so typical that the father took the cowards way out.
Evil Lives Here: He Had a Torture Chamber (2023)
Oh Russell why could you not just love me .....
Oh my lord what a frustrating woman. I get the concept of cautionary tales but this ain't it. This is a woman was so in love with a demon that she failed to see any reason. She said i did not leave cause i was financially not able to and yet this man was constantly in and out of prison, so how exactly was her situation financially stable to the point that she needed him and could not leave? He literally stole and pawned her stuff cause he had no money and would go in and out of jail for drugs and stealing and yet yeah she could not leave for financial reasons. Sure love! It felt like she was adding these reasons to bolster a strong argument for why she did not leave but the truth is this woman did not leave cause she wanted to be with that man. She seems more annoyed and angry that this man did not love her as she loved him. Them little bursts of anger and the tears that would not come out lol.
She seems like the type of woman who will do anything for a man which she did. This woman bailed out her husband even after he committed heinous acts. Why was she constantly bailing and picking him up from jail to terrorise her and her kids. Them poor kids. She really should have left earlier if she believed in putting her kids first above her love for the man. It annoyed the hell out of me how she did not protect her kids. This man had her daughter at all times of the night and she still did not leave rather she thought why not have another child.
Her family tried to reason with her but she did not want to hear it. Clearly her self esteem is in the gutter and she thought herself lucky that Russell chose her. Her sobbing with no tears coming out going "I just wanted to be loved, I just wanted someone to love me" let's you know all about this lady.
Her finding God means nothing. Some of them pastors and parishioners be really wolves in sheep's clothing. And she is clearly a judgemental type of Christian given the way she spoke about prostitutes, that Russell taking photos of her in various states of undress make feel dirty, like a prostitute. Prostitutes aren't dirty and are just trying to eke out a living. She could have left it at "him taking photos of me in various states of undress without my permission was dehumanising and made me feel disgusted" rather than made me feel like a prostitute. As if prostitutes deserve to be treated and to feel that way. She annoyed me. The end !
Evil Lives Here: My Brother Let the Evil In (2023)
Benefit of doubt
I got so annoyed with the sister and I will bet the rest of his family coddled and kept buying his lies as well. He nearly stabbed his wife to death and they still took his word over the wife. She heard about how he would dumb bodies of prostitute in dumpster after having sex with them and even after he had already gone to jail for stabbing his wife, she thought he brother was just joking /making up stories. For real woman? She also discusses the heinous acts he is accused of having committed as "what might have happened" not as a certainty of...... "this is what actually happened"
Also the mother of Rebekah Gay like wow, how could she let that man into her life even with the knowledge of what he did. She knowingly brought a killer into her life who then went on to not only murderer her daughter but committed necrophilia among other disgusting things to her body. Some people should not be parents. All for a man I guess.
Evil Lives Here: We're Glad Mom is Dead (2023)
A search for a subservient wife goes wrong
Normally I am sad or rather peeved at the actions taken by many of people who are on this show and how they talk about their dealings with the evil person being covered on the show but I was laughing all throughout this episode. Model minority hey ? Hahahaha. This white man sought out a subservient Asian and ended up on his knees, crying like a little baby cause he in fact got an Asian gangster. Then he had the gall to try to replace her with another Asian lady from China.
Yes that woman was clearly insane but how dumb do you have to be to tell your psycho current wife through email that "hey btw I have been cheating on you with another nice subservient Asian woman from china. Also I really would love to take the kids to China and leave you all alone with nothing so that I can start living my dream life as a white king getting pampered by my ideal subservient Asian wife"
Obviously the kids had nothing to do with this and sometimes unhinged women take out their ire on the kids like my mother did and I truly empathise with the children. Luckily for me I blocked out the incidences of my mother trying to kill me however my siblings do remember but like my father who was a philanderer and a cad as well that man ain't as innocent as they are trying to potray him to be. That Asian fever he clearly had makes me side eye him. Those guys are always off and he was a cheater. Did he deserve to die no. To someome who has anger issues that situation is like dynamite. If you are gonna walk away don't try to slight someone who is that unhinged and clearly had a major ego by emailing them your tales of cheating and your plans to dump them. I do wish Sungnam had taken the high road and just gotten that nice divorce settlement, lived her best life and obviously been a better mother to those kids. That white man wasn't worth the fate she ended up receiving but yeah that's on her.
Finally throw the mother and father away. The only victims here are the kids.
We Are Who We Are (2020)
A misunderstood masterpiece!
Surprised that I had never heard of this show until a day ago. I never saw the trailer and I only found it because I was looking up a show that I loved in the past called hit the floor and for some reason this show was recommended on the imdb page of hit the floor . What a masterpiece! A beautiful coming of age story with more depth added from the poignant adult storylines.
Some hated the two characters ending up together but it made a lot of sense to me. They are young and through the course of the show we see them trying to figure out not only their identities but their sexuality which makes their connection stronger and pure. It is not some hormones or a stupid crush were they idolise the idea of the other person. They truly know each other, faults and all and still they choose each other. They don't have to know their precise sexuality to know who is their person and who their drawn to on a deeper level other than surface level attraction. I haven't enjoyed a show this much in such a long time.
I honestly don't understand all the comments saying they don't get the show and that it is extremely confusing. I think people have become to reliant on fast paced stories and shock value to keep them entertained. If you notice there is a correlation between those saying the show was confusing and that it was trying too hard to be like Euphoria but I disagree! I think that they're two very different shows. One of the many reasons why I didn't particularly enjoy Euphoria that much is because it was not relatable at all to me. Everything just felt like it was on steroids . Unrealistic and not in a good way. You don't have to be a member of the lgbtq plus or to be a teenager to relate to this show or get something out of it. For me it was like taking a trip down memory lane. There is this symbiosis between the past and the presence. A past transcends several decades. At times you feel as if you're watching a show from the 60s or 70s or 80s or 90s and 2000s etc because of the different props, cinematography, the physical connection of the characters to each rather than through the interweb.

Family secrets.....
Sometimes family secrets are so damaging to the vulnerable people around the vicinity all in an effort to keep up a facade. I definitely think the kids should have been told their brother was away for doing something very bad. Not exactly the details by telling the kids this it would have let them know that he is not a nice person. But then again parents think that their kids can never do wrong and that what happened was just an off chance, a one time heinous thing that is out of character and never to be done again. When he came back they really should have restricted Billy's access to his own siblings or should have monitored the kids more considering the crime he had gone to a mental institution for. Instead of letting him gallivant with his little siblings unchaperoned. He also killed someone and that was a major fault and oversight on the parents but these were different times.
I think some people think it's ridiculous that kids nowadays are being taught about consent from a young age that if someone hugs you and if you don't like that and if you feel uncomfortable it is within your right to say no but I think this is also important because it allows kids to be more open and to have boundaries. It allows kids to be more vocal and talk about what is wrong with someone who they can trust . 90% of the time people are killed or assaulted by the people close to them not strangers. But because this was such a secretive home no one spoke. They seemed more concerned with not bringing shame and notoriety on the family and that ended up causing an irreparable damage on the younger siblings. They might have reunited now but they were so many lost years and there is still tension between them.
I am not sure if I believe Karen saying that she would not have tried to talk the little sister out of going to the police and that she should have been consulted first but what exactly did Susan do wrong? Karen was also not supportive of her. Besides Suzan went in to talk about what was done to her and that has nothing to do with Karen. In fact she did not even know that Karen was abused as well since they were not that close due to Billy's manipulation tactics. Coupled with the fact that every family member seemed to treat Billy with kiddy gloves and were extremely upset everytime he was incarcerated. I don't blame her one bit for going straight to the police to stop his brother cause it doesn't look like his family planned to do anything other than welcoming him back with open arms and reintegrate back into society and to pick up right were he left off as a predator. Sad that Susan died soon after . Billy was such a monster. An emotional roller coaster. Very sad indeed!
Evil Lives Here: He Looks Like the Killer on TV (2023)
Not much common sense !
This lady was so blinded by her love for Paul or whatever his name was that even after one of her mates rang her to let her know that someone who looks like her husband was on TV and was wanted for murder, she still did not want to believe it cause the man on tv did not look like her husband.
No offence lady but the picture of Paul in the past before he committed his crimes and the picture when he was with her are literally the same person. The face and those strong inverted V shape eyebrows are so unique and they stood out in both photos .
To be honest for a long time this woman was in denial that she was married to a murderer. That man pulled a lot of actions that were major red flags before they even got married. Things that really should not have warranted a second date. From acting cold and distant with her friend who had introduced herself on their date and entering her home without permission, to taking her kids out without permission being prone to violent outbursts.
What I find shocking was this lady had no qualms with investigating this man who was really unhinged all the while still living in that house with her children putting them in jeopardy even after he played scare tactics with her kids by not telling her where her kids were and telling her to wait patiently for them. Even after she finally dobbed him in to the police and was told her to leave for her own safety and also the kids safety she refused to.
Thank god she at least had some morsel of good sense to let the kids stay with the father. It is quite interesting how these women who stay with these murders always like to posit their actions as if they were martyrs sacrificing themselves for the good of everyone when the truth is their self esteem was in a sunken place before they even met their partners and will take anything as long as they are not single and are "loved". No common sense to save themselves let alone those around them who depend on them cause they're so blinded by love.

The perfect roommate ....
Normally I get so annoyed by the perspectives of the relatives or the people who grew up and lived with the perpetrators because most of the time the giant red flags were always there waving right in front their faces. Not with this case though. A lot of what Mark did could be misconstrued as PTSD because his actions were unusual but not out of the realm especially with someone who has been in the military during a time when the world was so charged and people lauded these man for joining the military and fighting for their country but not at all thinking about the ramifications of what it was like to come back after having served .
A lot of his actions could have been attributed to him being just a stickler for rules and structure, being environmental and chemical conscious and having OCD and I definitely agree with the brother that if he was studying full time and working nights, he barely was interacting with him on a deeper level. He barely even had the time to notice all the little weird things that Mark was doing cause his life was taxing but also Mark had delineated these boundaries that he was not supposed to cross.
I do think that even though Mark seemed to be a nice kid when they were growing up, he definitely had issues with women and how he viewed them. He might not have always voiced them and he might have said a misogynistic thing here and there like many men do but we never think that these men will go out and start raping women. It's interesting that most of his victims were older women . Probably easier to incapacitate and might have less power to scratch and bite thereby leaving his DNA there. He definitely got off on control more than having a type.
Evil Lives Here: The Hole in the Backyard (2023)
Snoozefest!!
I'm sure growing up with a parent who is mentally ill is a traumatic experience and honestly I would not wish it on my worst enemy. However this episode was a hard slog for me to finish because of their annoying little voices and the way that they just talked. Shame about what happened to the husband because he really just wanted to be just a good husband and a good father but yeah to me this lady sounds a lot like someone who was clearly mentally ill . The constant want to randomly burn the house. Something tells me there's an underlying mental condition there other than being just a domestic abuser and her paranoia is definitely something that needs looking into. Also I really hate when parents blame their kids for being the source of their oppression and not be able to do what they want because they had them st s young age. No one else you to have sex snd be irresponsible, that's on you. I wish the kids well and I hope that ger deranged ass gets kept in there and gets the help she needs . She seems the type to be vindictive if let out.
