Half term nearly over and just spent the morning watching this film with my two children aged 8 and 10. It was definitely time well spent. My children were hooked from the start. The film location was beautiful and timeless, reminiscent of the type of summer vacation many of us will have had as a child. There's nothing more exciting than spending time with a bunch of friends, running wild making your own fun. Even better when an alleged murder takes place and you can suddenly turn into the 'famous four' investigating, snooping and causing uproar! What we liked about the film was that the pace of the story was quick enough to keep our interest and yet slow enough to ensure we didn't lose the thread. The children playing the main characters were endearing and each had defined personalities which I'm sure every child could relate to. The adult actors were often funny with plenty of slapstick moments which certainly made my two giggle. A good story arc, a twist in the tale with plenty of comedy elements makes this a modern take on a 'classic British caper film'. I can definitely see this film on television and hope there is a sequel, with the children getting together to endeavor to solve another crime!
