There is no restoration involved in this show at all. They rip everything out, paint magnificent woodwork all white, and put it what looks like lawn furniture. Oh, and let's not forget the red lip vaginaish chair. This show is a travesty of design.
I was so excited to see this show as I am a beach freak.
Sadly, it jumps around so much the viewer never gets the feel for the local area and cannot attach to the region. It would be much more effective if they concentrated on one region per show and offered the specifics of the regional cuisine; that would be a much stronger show. A show that illustrates the local cuisine on the barrier islands of Georgia would make for an in-depth approach to the cooking styles and cuisine that the viewer could find in that area of the country.
The filming is beautiful, as it should be for a show about beach eats, but there isn't really any attention to the area or the people. So far, I just saw Georgia, St. Barts, and now we're off to Mexico. There is no focus. I'm confused and unimpressed.
