My Dreams of You (2024)
A Bit Awful
No chemistry and terrible acting. I gave it a very gracious 3. The movie is just plain boring. It was difficult to watch. Actually I could/t finish it because the story just dragged on and was so boring. I certainly hope this is not what we can expect from Hallmark going forward for the rest of the year; I'm a big Hallmark fan and try to watch.every new movie/\..
There is really not much else to say about the movie but I have to write six hundred characters telling how bad I thought it was. So that is what I am doing, even though I am boring you by just trying to fill space. So now I am done!
Then Came You (2020)
Boring, Boring
I can't believe I made it through the whole movie. This was so hard to watch. It's just bad in most every respect. I agree with those that say the scenery is the best part of the movie. Having been to Scotland, it is truly beautiful. It was the highlight of the movie. The scenery rated a 10, the movie a 2 and it was difficult to rate it that high. My wife and I both shook our heads when it was over. She has been in a couple of Hallmark movies and I wasn't really impressed with her in those either. But when you can produce your own movie, you can do whatever you want. Curious as to who selected the cast. Not sure what else to say but watch at your own peril.
The Christmas Thief (2021)
Ouch!
I thought the acting was horrible and boring. Couldn't make it all the way through this mess. It started out bad and got worse from there. Watch at your won peril.
Heartland: Staying the Course (2021)
What's Next?
As with most of the last episodes it leaves us with a lot of questions. First of all Peter looks horrible in that mustache.👎 I think the ice rink in the last two episodes really gave the episodes a homey feel. It was really nice. The Lyndy twins are adorable and really add to the show. Even Parker is starting to grow on me. I was so happy to see Lou and Mitch break up👍. I think we all knew the kid issue would be a problem for Lou. Mitch finally admitted he wanted to have a child with Lou which was a deal breaker. Even her mayoral assistant made a case for Peter over Mitch. He is 0-2,missing out on Elizabeth in When Calls the Heart as well. Does this mean Lou and Peter will get back together if there is another season. Jessica returns to Tim and they talk about him joining her on her travels. If there is a Season 15, will Tim be gone much of the time. Many unanswered questions and therefore many reasons for another season.👍😁 Amy has another horse, Shadow, that she can train as a jumper to replace the ailing Spartan. I do wonder what Amy(Amber) wants to do in her own life regarding children. This may have an overriding affect on whether there is a Season 15.
Heartland: Changing Gears (2021)
Maybe the best.
This may have been one of the best episodes ever. Without including any spoilers, this episode was very emotional in many respects. Jack, Amy, Caleb, Tim, and Jessica. I have watched every episode, , many of them several times. The plane crash in Season 3 when Amy found Ty at the crash. Season 7 when Amy had the accident and the way Ty took care of her. There were too many to mention but this episode was right at the top. I was starting to hope they would begin to move on from Ty and I think this episode may have done that. For me, the writing on this episode was excellent they way it handled all the different situations, This is an episode I can re-watch more than once. After this episode, it opens up so many writing options for future episodes. We can only hope there will be more.
Heartland: Keep Me in Your Heart (2021)
Inevitable
For me it was inevitable that Ty would leave the show. I personally don't think it will have a significant impact on the show. It definitely won't affect my watching. Amy is such a strong actor with amazing skills she will able to carry the show along with the other main actors. And the little girls playing Lyndy are adorable and really add to the show. Jack is also amazing and the show will require him to step up even more. The cast has been together for so long they meld together so well. While I'm not not fond of the Lou/Mitch relationship, I can only hope that Mitch spends his time doing other shows and very little time on Heartland. I personally don't think he adds anything to the quality of the show. I have watched all of the Season 14 episodes so far and they are very good. The attempt to introduce Parker as a current day Mallory was a huge failure in my opinion. Mallory was annoying in a very good way, Parker is just annoying.
Looking forward to the rest of the season that will come to an end way too soon and more seasons to come. With just 10 episodes per season now, this gives the actors plenty of time to do other projects if they so desire. Hopefully this will allow them to commit to future seasons. This also allows Amy (Amber) to have a child in her real life if that is what she wants since she is now in her 30's. If past standards still exist, they do 2 episodes every 15 days, they can do a whole season in about 3 months. Here's to Season 15🙂👍🤞
Christmas She Wrote (2020)
A Magnificent Hallmark Mistake
This was so poorly written I couldn't make it to the end. Also, another match that wasn't. This couple had no romantic attraction at all. What a miserable job of casting. Again, Hallmark believes they can throw any two people together and make a romantic match. What is actually does is completely ruin the movie, as in this case. Watching him act is like watching paint dry, boring!! I have only watched a handful of Hallmark Christmas movies this year that were worth watching much less watch them a second time. I don't know if they just tried to throw these movies together just to get them done because of Covid. It doesn't seem to to me a lot of them were really thought out. Hallmark obviously believes all they can just put anything out there and the Hallmark faithful will be alright with it. Not the case, as you can see with the vast majority of the reviews believe as I do.
Christmas in Vienna (2020)
A horrible match
Once again Hallmark believes they can throw any two people together. This is one of the worst couples ever. As another reviewer commented, Sarah Drew deserved a better partner. There is absolutely no chemistry between these two and trying force one makes it only that much worse. As I have commented in previous reviews, a believable romance makes all the difference in the story line of the movie. Admittedly, I am not a Brennan Elliott fan and believe he is a dud when it comes to romance movies. He is like watching paint dry.
Follow Me to Daisy Hills (2020)
Maybe the worst ever
This was so bad I couldn't even finish it. The writing was just terrible. The numerous 1 and 2 star reviews should provide a clue. In all my years watching Hallmark movies, I have never seen an overwhelming number of 1 and 2 ratings. Overall, I like Cindy Busby. I've followed her since her days on Heartland. However, this movie does not do her justice. I think the primary reason is the poor script and writing. Personally, I think a lot of the more recent Hallmark movies are very average. The creators of these Hallmark movies just think they can throw any two actors together and be successful. Not the case in my opinion. Some couples have chemistry and some don't. These two really don't.
Love Under the Olive Tree (2020)
Lame
Just boring. I realize Hallmark rehashes the same topics time after time. This is just one of the really bad ones. I wasn't real fond of the casting either. They just didn't mix well.
When Calls the Heart: New Possibilities (2020)
Boring
I have struggled through this season from one boring episode and another. The whole romantic triangle is a joke. They are trying to hard to force things this season rather than let them happen naturally. With the high rating the series is getting means it is living off its past glory. The new constable is terrible.
When Calls the Heart: Home for Christmas (2019)
Boring
I thought this was one of the worst episodes. It just didn't do anything for me. Two suitors for Elizbeth. Also, I'm not particularly fond of some of the new cast.
Over the Moon in Love (2019)
Boring
I'm a big Wes Brown fan but in my opinion Jessica Lowndes just is not very good. I see she wrote this movie. It doesn't help that Hallmark keeps rehashing these same themes. Some work better than other, this one doesn't. Since I'm not a big Jessica Lowndes fan I went into this very skeptical. I was right.
All Summer Long (2019)
Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely a dud. Actually I couldn't finish it. Brendan Elliott is not one of my favorites to begin with. I do agree with one of the other reviews is that there is no chemistry between him and Autumn. However, I'm not sure what couple could have saved this movie. It was just BORING! Terrible costing and script.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Poor casting
Tom Hanks is totally out of character and does a very poor job and is unbelievable. I thought the movie was boring. Look elsewhere for a more historic depiction of what happened on Normandy.
Winter Castle (2019)
Boring
I thought this was one of the worst Hallmark movies ever. It was just boring.
A Midnight Kiss (2018)
Totally Agree
I totally agree with "Formula for failure". I struggled through the first movie that featured Carlos PenaVega and his wife. However, I could not make myself watch Love at Sea even though I do like Alexa. They were terrible as a couple in Enchanted Christmas. I tried to watch Midnight Kiss as I do like Adelaide Kane. But, as expected, Carlos ruined this movie as well. He is really a horrible actor and was really surprised to see how much previous work he had done. Since I am a Hallmark Movie junkie I was disappointed that he was cast in one of the Christmas movies, especially to ruin a movie with Adelaide. I would hope Hallmark checks these reviews and think twice before they ruin another movie with casting Carlos. I don't usually write reviews like this but Carlos is so bad I needed to vent my frustration. There are way too many good movies to waste your time on this one.
One Tree Hill (2003)
Somewhat disappointed
I just started watching this show based on seeing several of the characters in Hallmark movies. I would check IMDB to see other shows they had appeared in. Found out that several had starred in One Tree Hill. Therefore, I started watching to see what the show was like. I probably would have rated the show an 8 or higher if I was only rating seasons 1-6. Actually, it seemed to me that Season 6 was expected to be the final year. With Lucas and Peyton both leaving the series at the end of season 6 with no explanation the episodes seemed to be winding down the characters and then they found out the series would be renewed. So they had to throw some crap together to start Season 7. Because of that, I tried to continue watching but the episodes became too bizarre for me. So I have not watched Seasons 8 & 9 completely. Even though 50+ years removed from high school it did bring back some fond memories and some realities of the things I did. It was fun to watch. For me though, I enjoyed the episodes after high school the most. I think all of the actors did a great job portraying their characters. I was disappointed about the changes from Season 6 to 7. I have seen similar situations that also had a big impact on the show Army Wives comes to mind. It is always difficult to replace primary characters that far into the series. Not sure what could have been done to make me want to continue watching. I was looking forward to the series continuing with Lucas and Peyton raising their family along with Nathan and Haley. To me that would have been the ideal continuation of the episodes. Having said that, the producers/directors can't control the actors that want to move on to enhance their careers. One Tree Hill was running 20+ episodes a season. That limits their other opportunities.
One last comment, be prepared for a lot of sexual innuendo, etc. Parents might want to view a few of the episodes before allowing younger children to watch the show.
Christmas Angel (2012)
Very enjoyable
Happened upon this on UP channel. I am a Teri Polo fan so decided to watch. Enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended! Olivia is adorably obnoxious. Very persistent. Della Reese does another fine job of playing a reclusive benefactor to those in need. I'm a huge Hallmark Channel fan and watch most everything they produce. However, so many of their shows have redundant plots. This movie has a real story and can be emotional at times.
The Mistletoe Inn (2017)
Awful
Maybe the worst Hallmark Christmas movie ever. So boring, so bad. My wife and I endured it like a root canal. I'm not a big Alicia Witt fan and would strongly disagree with the person who said she is the "queen" of Hallmark movies. For me, she is way down the list. One of the few Hallmark movies I will never watch a second time.
Chesapeake Shores (2016)
Boring and fractured, disappointing
I really wanted to like this show. I am a big Hallmark fan. I started watching because of Meghan Ory after seeing her in the Hallmark movie Dashing Through the Snow. For me the show has continued to get worse. I also agree with a previous post that Diane Ladd's accent is so bad it is annoying. The story lines are so fractured it is hard to keep up with what is going on. Seems like the show is more about Treat Williams than Meghan Ory and Jesse Metcalf. I was somewhat surprised that the show got renewed and really don't expect it to survive another year. I guess Hallmark has so much invested in the series it can't afford to cancel it after one year. I see it going the way of Cedar Cove. Another series that started out OK and got worse as it went along. I think the actors do a good job, I blame the writers/producers/directors for scattering the story lines around to the point they get lost.
One Small Hitch (2013)
I like it
This is the type of movie with a weird start that I stop watching after the first few minutes. However, I couldn't find anything I wanted to watch so I stuck with it. It was similar to a Hallmark movie. You know how it is going to end, its the journey it takes you through that is kind of enjoyable and funny.
Chesapeake Shores: Secrets, Lies, and School Supplies (2017)
Not my favorite
I was somewhat surprised the show was renewed. I thought it started out OK in Season 1 and then become boring as the season went on. There are so many characters it is difficult for the show to be meaningful. There is actually very little time given to the "main characters". So, as Season 2 starts, my opinion is the show continues to be boring. I'm not sure where the writers are taking the story line. It seems to be so splintered that nothing really gets done. I was really hoping to like this show primarily because of Meghan Ory. She is supposed to be the "star" yet there seems to be very little time spent on her character.
The Night Shift (2014)
I like it
I get a kick out of the professionals that complain that the show is unrealistic. I do the same for law enforcement shows. This is TV. Tell me which show is factually correct in every respect. Take NCIS one of the most popular and successful series ever. I was in federal law enforcement for almost 30 years and the stuff they do is so ridiculous. But it is entertaining which is what these TV shows are intended to be.
Christmas List (2016)
Not my favorite
First of all I am not an Alicia Witt fan but I did like A Very Merry Mix-up. I thought the Christmas List was a very sub par Hallmark Christmas movie. I've seen most of the Hallmark movies several times and this would have to be one of my least favorites. I just thought it was dull. It was interesting that they had Gabriel Hogan and his real life mother. To me there was no real chemistry between the actors and I thought her "boyfriend" was terrible. All Hallmark movies are very predictable and redundant. But I normally enjoy them anyway as they remind me of the family oriented shows that I grew up watching. However, I could just never get into this movie and the only reason I watched until the end was because there is very little else on.
