Crossing Lines (2013)
content, story, scenery 10.. but
Due to the tech people.. specifically the sound people.. the show gets an 8 instead of 10. Volume modulation is deplorable. Sometimes deafening.. sometimes dialog is too quiet.. people, we have the technology... why do they insist on requiring viewers to have their fingers on the volume controls the whole show? Yes.. we know planes, trains and automobiles are noisy.. no need to blow me off my chair to remind me. Other than that I love this show. The cast works well together.. sad that they killed off one in season one though. I like that the team works on different cases.. some that end in one episode, and some that thread through the whole season. I don't see actors, I see characters. I do keep hoping that they hit a few more countries as the photography and scenery are fantastic.. Sweden and Norway come to mind, as do Spain and maybe some in Greece.
Crisis (2014)
good show but..
Crisis is a fairly unique show these days. I like it and look forward to seeing it each week. My biggest critique with this show is the production staff's lack of volume control. It's loud.. it's soft.. it's loud again. Constantly. Good plot, good cast - moves along really well but I'm forever having to adjust the blasted volume.. background music should be just that.. in the background. I can understand the need to do that with a really slow moving plot, you know, just to keep viewers awake but it's not needed with crisis. Sure, some may be unrealistic but I am not turning on a documentary - it's entertainment. I'm also really enjoying the interior shots of the "mansion". Good camera work on top of a good plot. I think we will see some of the younger actors go further once this story plays out.
