I was expecting a serious take on Watergate. However I am not disappointed that it is a satirical look at what happened. I don't know about E. Howard Hunt. But I always thought G Gordon Liddy was a buffoon. And a psycho. (I read his book). So I am enjoying Justin's take on him. I was 19 years old when the hearings were happening. A cousin of mine who was in college at the time was very into it. Only later when the books started coming out did I start paying attention to what happened. Yes I would have preferred a serious series. But I am enjoying this. Not crazy about the person playing of Howard Dean.
This is a fun show. Marcia Gay Harden and SkylarAstin have good chemistry. I can't imagine Geena Davis in the role of the mom. I am on my second watch of the first 9 episodes. It's a show about family with a law firm as the setting. The entire cast is enjoyable. Any role Harden takes on is memorable. Love the moments when Margaret and Todd are talking at the same time. (Brings back memories of Maddy and David arguing in the 1980's show Moonlighting.) I don't watch much regular tv. But this is a show I look forward to. I hope it's picked up for a second season. The show just makes me smile. A feel good silly show.
This series is not about the Vampire Series of novels by Anne Rice. I have only watched the first episode. I like it so far. But fans have been misled. The low ratings here are not valid. I do have some issues with the changes. But it is obvious this series is not for Anne Rice fans. Accept that and move on. I like Sam Reid as Lestat.
This series has a political agenda. But it is visually stunning. I am disappointed with the show runners point of view. But that does not take away from this being a good series. My biggest disappointment is it was not made clear that this series would be a reimagining of Rice's material.
