This documentary goes over Andy Warhol's entire life and career in only 1 hour and 14 min. This intrinsically limits the amount of information the director was able to cover in his film. I do wish he had spent less time on Warhol's films - though he was a prolific director - and more on his acrylics and serigraphs, as well as the artist's personal life. In our world of HD, the film definitely looks dated, and doesn't do full justice to Warhol's art. However I do recommend it as a solid introduction to Warhol's contribution to the art world.
I'm a 35 year old women and I found the show hilarious. It left me wanting to just hang out with Ali, and maybe she would become my best friend. Her humor is extremely relatable, based on truths some of which I had chosen to forget, others keep quiet. Watching the show on my own, I found myself laughing out loud on my couch, and wondering how she would dare say some of the things coming out of the mouth, and if her husband and family were allowed to watch the show. I've also watched a few episodes of Fresh Off the Boat - a show for which she writes - and could recognize the frankness of her style despite covering completely different topics.
