"Tainted Love" contains it all...tenderness, humor, drama, tension, beauty, and the ugly truth. First-time filmmaker Rachel Anderson did an outstanding job portraying her true life story on screen. Her script rings true and the film and performances flow very nicely and balance each other out. We have the angry and disapproving dad, the understanding and loving mom, the snarky and funny best friend, the adorable and arrogant (but not too arrogant) boyfriend, and the young woman caught in the middle of it all. Mindy Jackson plays Samantha Johnson, who in reality represents writer/director Rachel Anderson. She meets the love of her life but because he is black and Samantha is white, her dad vehemently objects. Her mother is behind her as long as he makes her happy. But the family is torn apart by the relationship. "Tainted Love' will captivate you and will make you laugh and cry. And what more can you ask from a film?
