Ricky Stanicky (2024)
Finished a little too quick for my liking. But Very Funny And Worth Your Time
When watching the scene at the bar with Wes and Dean, near the end of the movie. I felt like I missed something. Then in the next scene when Erin showed up to confront Dean, I definitely felt a little lost. I could feel that they cut down on Erin's storyline of her confirming her suspicions and handing over the story on Stanicky.
Had there been a scene of the MBSNC confronting Stanicky and then quick cutting to the bar scene. That would have been enough to fill the logic gap of everything that comes at the viewer, following the bar scene. Still would have liked another scene of Erin investigating Stanicky to tie up any continuity stuff. Otherwise pretty good movie.
Well nothings perfect, but this definitely makes the cut for being funny and sweet in a demented way. I really enjoyed watching it. On a side note, Efron and Cena really seemed to have come up in the comedy game. Farrelly puts together a perfect cast and the movies antics and story hooked me.
Would really like to rewatch this as an extended or directors cut. And were this 2014 maybe the bluray would have one. As it's 2024 and this film is paid for by prime member subscriptions, who can say if this will ever get an extended version, or a blu ray. But good Comedy's are the rarest of movie breeds and this is a good one.
The Boys: The Only Man in the Sky (2022)
This ep gets the osscar, one of the best moments of the series.
So in the ep there's this video and then there's this phone call. And I was maybe almost tearing up just a little bit only to be moments later laughing my ass off. And there's that f'n ednding, god damn this episode was great.
Moments like this are an essential part as to why I watch this show and why I think it's great overall. I can give a million reasons as to why a lot of dramas fail at this imo and come off as cheap and emotionally exploitive. And at the viewers expense, even if they are done well. But this is a show where moments like this are earned and enjoyed, at least by me.
Irresistible (2020)
Rose Byrne is Hilarious.
Very entertaining and funny. There's a really great cast here and a pretty clever story. Political comedies are tricky, but of course Stewart delivers a movie for both sides of the aisle. Really enjoyed Carell's performance in this one. This is a charming and smart political satire. Watched it twice, thought it was funnier the second time.
The Shield (2002)
Really Good Show
Great ending... I would say the same for Sons of Anarchy.
Watchmen (2009)
Directors Cut.
As I'm sure others have said. If you only watch this movie once, the Directors Cut is the definitive version to see.
