Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (2024)
Trying so hard to make Telugu version of Maaveeran, failing miserably.
The story starts off decently and sort of builds up as a mother's love gradually turns into a love story. However, it tries too hard to force an action-hero angle, shoehorning in various sequences just to make it fit into a one-day event. In order to give the hero an action scene, many unnecessary plot points are established, and a specific day is allocated. To justify why there isn't a genuine police investigation, they conveniently portray the police as supervillains. What a disaster. This is one of the worst scripts/films ever made by Vivek Atreya. He has great potential, and I don't understand why he stooped so low with this film.
Nani should stop trying so hard to prove that he can be an action hero. He doesn't fit the role, and he needs to accept that. No matter how hard he tries to find directors who can give him that role, he lacks the physique, mannerisms, or acting skills required for it.
It feels like a forced story, possibly pushed by the actor or producers to make an action film. The core issue is that the hero can hit people but just needs a flimsy reason, creating a cringey, superhero-type setup. It seems like the hero or producers admired Maaveeran and sought out a director who could craft a decent story, eventually bringing in Vivek. Alternatively, Vivek might have been impressed by Maaveeran and went overboard, adapting the script to suit the Telugu audience, resulting in this mess of a movie.
The storyline is seriously pointless, and the love story itself holds no weight. They could have removed the love story entirely and still worked with a simpler "save the local community" type of plot. I would have rated it 2 or less, but the story had a decent buildup that, at some point, felt like it might lead somewhere. However, by the second half, it turns into a comedic mess. Filmmakers and actors today are obsessed with "mass" films, which has ruined the industry. They've created a gutter-like ecosystem where every potential story is turned into another cringeworthy, "mass" film, dragging down even decent concepts into nonsense.
Roopanthara (2024)
Movie tries too hard to be philosophlical, intellectual and couldn't tell one story while trying multiple.
Film tries to, wants to tell a lot, thought a lot, and have so many ideas, half-baked, some are way more than baked/overcooked ideas. And not one idea have an approach which is worth to be made as a story.
I won't call it charlatan or pseudo-intellectualism which is so commonly seen, exhibited hang on across today's films in every industry and world too. May be trying for anthology saved them from this situation. But its somehow lingering at many of their parts too. I feel they could have just kept a simple old couple's story as the main theme and other stories as connected to the old couple kind off approach. Like a grandson who is drug addict, a rowdy son who wanting to bring his parents but get involved in case of egoistic corporate guy kind off. And younger police guy who is waiting for his parents to take them for trip get struck watching the ego, class clash of the people and the migrant lady's struggle. Something which binds all together, and leaving it open at the end. And dystopia wasn't even required for that matter. That nonsensical looking poorly designed vehicle and guns, and pointless reason wanting to kill for story as a savior, is so clichéd. Dystopia was clearly pointless and just a weak setup to begin with.
The film didn't truly metamorphize to be a story, and just went rapidly trying to tell a lot, and it just killed its life I felt. That's what it was. Philosophy and Story are quite different things. Sometimes people club the two and don't find the balance of letting the audience formulate their view around it. That's when these things happen.
Kalki 2898-AD (2024)
Illogical, nonsensical, pointless and boring film. It's neither SciFi, nor mythological or action.
The film's story, acting is just all over the place. There is nothing you truly care. Be it Prabhas, or Kamal Hassan or Deepika or Amitabh or whoever on the screen, all looks cardboard cuts rather than genuine character. Even cinematography tries so hard to be EPIC, but it just so childish in many aspects.
It's not even SciFi, I mean why not a futuristic so advanced world can't have an artificial womb for experiment, and why is Roxy whatever the character roaming free. There is no head and tail of the story's purpose or character's purpose or of any characters too. The only thing which ties it all together is the purpose and loose connect of Ashwathamma's past which is what driving the things forward.
It even tries so hard to be funny but even kids won't find it funny. Prabhas got to learn acting, truly speaking. He is surely decent actor, and that fanbase sort of cover up this flawed acting, but he should understand he can't play every character just because it got "EPIC" or OVER THE TOP in it. Big B too doesn't suit for the Ashwathamma Role, but he tries super hard to fit in. His CGI/VFX whatever face for the past too doesn't fit in. Neither the Sri Krishna's character too feels so out of the character. In one scene they show Sri Krishna who is weirdly having a slight hunch back standing a hero pose lol, throws Ashwathamma to avoid his attack and Ashwathamma flies far.. I laughed at that scene so hard. When and where it written or said that Sri Krishna attacks. And who gave the voice over to Sri Krishna, he is sounding heavy voice to seem like I'm GOD!. Even more funnier is in another later scene, Sri Krishna says to Arjuna, "I'm God of three worlds who protects your chariot". I mean who saw the movie they get it, I mean which God is saying I'm GOD of the WORLD! Even there is a basic need, necessity to improve what's written in holy text or even any text to what happens on the screen too to present god.
If you replace Deepika with Pooja Hegde , it wouldn't make much difference or even Mrunal's short cameo. Deepika in all scene was like Why everyone is calling me mother.. Stop following me etc etc, while when she comes out of complex through a fire, she doesn't think through how it could have really happened. And she give a FIGHTER movie pose. I never liked her acting anyway, and she is slowly lost even bare minimum acting she had, but in this its so cringe level acting. Reminded me of Alia in Brahmastra.. SHIVAAA SHIVAA.. type.. So stupid. Whole film such stupidity.
So many established actress role, anyone could fit the role. Each and every actor seemed like grabbing the opportunity rather than genuinely there for the role defined for them. Somehow Kamal Hassan somehow due to the makeup fit in with his acting.. It's better for OTT watch than even theater.
Action scenes are just pure comical, and even there is no evolution of ammunition. All seems borrowed from Brahmastra movie. People are connecting and equating this to Hollywood. I'm sorry don't make such joke of that..
I doubt it will even survive for second week. Too much too scattered too many dumb ideas cover up the few brilliant ones they had as a film. Film could have been just 2 hours, they dragged it to make it seem they are world building it with cheap, useless scenes and pointless story drag in first half. Whole cast and cameos did over acting throughout. Its just another Brahmastra in a way but not to that level cringe or cheap, but they tried too hard but the effort is all over, no direction, no story, no acting, nothing you can truly appreciate in reality. They tried too hard to be something aspiring and end up becoming nothing truly valuable.. Hope the second film somehow picks what's left out... I would have given it 1, but atleast the only thing which can be appreciated is EFFORT to try this.
Romeo Juliet (2015)
Just below average
Creepy cliche cringe film. Dont have any story or acting or songs or anything valuable. I never found both actors any good. There are so many movies made of same kind and wonder how director and producer didnt think of it before jumping in. Same movies are made by Vijay, Vikram, Dhanush, Surya, or every Tamil telugu hindi kannada malayalam film actors in one or their other version or even remakes . Only thing missing was some over the top action where there is another villain who kidnaps her and the hero runs fights and kills the villain and both accept each other. Wow what a story. May be even add social media like brahmin dalit caste this that nonsense and few artistic shots and people will say such greatest movie ever made . Stupidity is full on in Indian movies and this is one kind .
Rama Shama Bhama (2005)
Forced comedy
There wasn't any good acting from any actors. The comedy back than was okish, but if you watch it now you feel it's all just superficial, cringe, boring, forced and just doesn't have anything as a story itself to watch. The only thing which they tried so hard to shove it down was regional dialect and assuming that if we press it hard on that, people will laugh, that too for no reason. The story itself is forgettable. There isn't much to write too, I even don't remember if there is any song in that which was catchy or worth. Wonder how and when was the last time there was a genuine good comedy film which was brilliantly written.
DJ Tillu (2022)
It's like a black beauty mark on a black buffalo..
Saw this after that second part came, just no different between these two movies. Just rubbish, nonsensical. It's like watching cattle eating plastic without any value of story, film making, music, acting, there is nothing. Even school kids would write better story and make films these days. I wonder what are they thinking to make such lowest grade films and even people are supporting this trash.. It's like I said, you feel there is black mark beauty and realize it's all full black buffalo sitting in gutter, chowing onto some plastic kind of full on trash film.
Guess what I even saw these people giving interviews as if they made some international value comedy film sort of pose show off they were making. I wonder what went wrong with people these days.
Tillu Square (2024)
Seems like a polished version of Bhojpuri's B Grade film
I don't see what's so hype for this C D grade movies. I mean what are people watching and supporting giving high rating for no logical, practical or even sensible reason. The acting is such a crass, cringe, disgusting by every actor. There is no story too, and I wonder what scriptwriter was doing. And who is producing this kind of movies and expecting to be like super hit I wonder..
People have weird tastes for sure, but this is terrible. Nothing in it to be considered even to give 2 or above, but I have 2 just because they made it and marketed it for rating to get to 7.. 7... seriously ? 7... Wonderful marketing for such nonsense film.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
Food for thought: Clyde who made the bomb, holding it couldn't diffuse, and Nick kills him at the end is the justice?
As many said it , the story's throughout is great, and it did carry, but when the thing goes on wherein Nick becomes a kind of spy finding the hideout and than keeps the bomb for Clyde to diffuse. I was thinking, "is the Clyde the one who made the bomb, and one who made the bomb got to know how to diffuse it, or else what's the point of him being so exception. And even by pushing Nick as a hero, if he makes Clyde push the button and getting killed, it means he is backing the flawed legal and killing Clyde just to make sure he, his family is safe. I mean if Nick was so accepting his own mistake pushing Clyde to go this extreme, he should have killed himself along with Clyde too, in a way for self kill, like Samurai would do? How is Nick than becomes Legal and morally superior than Clyde?
He isn't. The hilarious part was Clyde was knowing the bomb will explode but for second never thinking to diffuse it. I mean if he diffused it, he could have easily come out too. This thing makes the film like too taking things for granted both for the two characters and story. And that hurts the film.
Other than that overall it was good.
Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai (2002)
A decent good film.
Overall it's a decent film with incredible songs. The songs is what the film uplifts by large. Barring few most songs are fantastic. Acting is decent, and if it was under a different director's hand probably the emotions would have come out more powerful and presentation of the actors would have even enriched the film's success.
Overall the film is still today's times watchable, though the issue lies is the thin line between clearing who is the lead interested in. And this thing they could have taken more stronger hold and direction of the story to make it positive for the film, but somehow they let it loose too early.
Ghost (2023)
Trying too hard to be intelligent, oversmartness, overthinking, unrealism destroyed the film
The film hurt itself trying to do all those above but more the issue was of lack of authenticity. There is no genuine story at all. The film tries to chew a lot than its capable to digest. Sprinkled with forced non-linear story structure, convoluted false complexity to make it look serious which it didn't had any strong core or subject or substance but a ton load of fake style, grandiosity . Its a hotchpotch of ideas poorly made and executed.
There was no characterization of lead character or of any other characters played too, no genuine supporting role built or antagonist. You literally have no idea who are all and what they are and why they are there. It's just everyone including main character are all cardboard characters. Extremely superficial convoluted approach towards story writing and editing assuming that will make it click for non-linear caused it fail in all aspects as a film.
There was no empathy or care or concern or emotionally anchoring for any character or to the story. Filled with one exposition after another for fans and terrible film making purely banking on fan service, it's just painful to watch.
Its like the burning tanker in the film for no purpose, no intention and just show piece. May be that's the GHOST?
Needed major improvement in all departments, but like I said, trying too hard to be intelligent, over-smartness, overthinking to make it all look SO BRILLIANT , failed the film. Lead actor doesn't seem even in the character at all. Fact is there is the original character is even a trick, which even makes it so weak for what they trumpeted him to be. The whole team somehow fails the film it seems. It's sad, what they had the potential, it's just sad.
Tiger Nageswara Rao (2023)
It's a terrible film
I wonder how the writers, director even think this far to drag, convolute film on if a real character it is. Maturity isn't in saying film of real life character in epic way, its in presenting with genuine facts with realism so deeply researches which gives the world view of how the character goes through even when nothing major crime being shown on screen. But in this there is no emotional or empathy towards main or any character. Its quite disappointing film. Be it acting, music, action, direction, songs, anything you take, it fails miserably. Telugu film industry is far far miles away from good films if they pursue this path..
Leo (2023)
TOO MUCH STYLE over Substance backed by Fanaticism
The original movie, "A History of Violence" had some purpose, character arc, but using that same story this one is so cheap version filled with overly stylized, glamorized, bombastic film filled with nonsensical plot points. I had a headache watching throughout of it.
Every actor did overacting it's so hard to watch, from Vijay , Trisha, the son character, Psycho, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, everyone had no organic feel to the story. Even the family bonding is so paper thin, cheesy. The action scenes are forced inclusion so are the deliberate fusion of UNIVERSE kind of nonsense they are doing in here. There is no purpose to the leader character as that of the original film. Like more than saving his family members it's more like "I NEED TO SHOW OFF" of how amazing I'm fighter or what not nonsense.
It's just terrible to watch. And it's a trend these days of over the top action following the likes of many Hollywood and even other trended PAN Indian religional films template following.
Black Panther (2018)
Just a "Look at me Im black and Im super advanced just like others" kind of movie
The issue is with the identity propaganda American culture just seeped so deep in Hollywood, USA and West which reflects in movies like these. Like each one are trying to make one or other identity politics driven film for no real reason. Just look at me we too exist sort of low IQ desperation stupidity..
I mean they could have done lot better simply with the setup and accepting the real culture of Africans and not necessarily try super hard to be "Black Americans in Africa acting like Super humans". But they tried and its cringe fest in every scene. Same is gender this or that identity films.
Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam (2006)
Utter rubbish film.
I wonder who gives money to movies like these. It's similar to movie where the hero loots a girl's family to get rich and manipulate to win the money and then waah.. What nonsense.. People watch these kind of movies and ruin their understanding of life, love, relationship, business. Such low IQ film. Guess what, this is Tamil's super hit film.. Really Super hit? What for? Why? What's there in this film? They deliberately push heroism to the character while he no where represents any hero character. I doubt about what people think going to watch nonsense movies like these. There is no story at all. Just dragging a simple situation to a whole nonsensical love story movie. Who made this superhit got too much money it seem.s.
Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju (2015)
Cringe sports , love fusion movie
There is pointless sports angle and forced love story. Acting is decent, lead actor's acting is very terrible. Wonder who made him star hero as such. Nitya menon is savior, but making her act childish is so cringe. The whole is a cringe fest and wonder how it got 7 rating. The actor needs acting class and director needs better stories and filmmaking course. It's very immaturish to say the least and i'm only writing just to fill the gap with imdb, there is nothing genuinely good in the film to write about other than Nitya Menon. The sports angle is so pointless. The character has no maturity in anywhere.
Kutty (2010)
Terrible acting of Dhanush and story is so childish cringe
It was so horrible acting of Dhanush and even immaturish. The storyline is terrible, manipulative in all aspects and don't have it's innocense of the original.
ASHWAMEDHAM (2019)
Disgusting acting and storylne
The actor himself seems terrible. Trying so hard to be hero and it just feels yuck. He makes this fake fake pout face to give a feel of jawline and it just cringe. His acting chops itself fails in every scene. He should seriously consider going for acting school. Story is below average, could have worked if actor just be himself normal without all that false wannabe hero mannerism.
Aruvam (2019)
Concept is good but acting and direction is terrible.
The concept was good but execution was terrible. Siddharth acting is so bad that it's all over the top. Even every actor in this is so over the top. He is not action hero but they forced him to be one.
Adanga Maru (2018)
Terrible acting and movie
I wonder how this actor gets movies. I mean, every film I have seen of his on TV are just terrible and his acting is so horrible. Even a side actor does a lot better acting. I don't get how come they keep casting him and pushing movies after movies. The whole film is just feels fake.
Peraanmai (2009)
Very childish immaturish film
The acting, storyline, everything seems over the top, childish, naive. The girls are unruly, misbehaved, and even the warden, teachers act so stupid to their antics. It feels like 10 year old wrote and made this film.
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022)
Below average film saved by Bromance acting
Movie could have beeen good but it fails many ways in story
The biggest letdown was the story, second half, and some bits of misalignment of how the story is framed.
The story as in, they took both real-life characters and just didn't genuinely tell their life story or freedom struggle but it was more like, "Oh these two are characters exists who you can check it online, and we used one's character to show saving the tribal girl, and another to avenge the father's death more in the pretext of stockpiling the weapons to wage war against brits" that's it.
This can't be called a good story. I would give it 1 or 2 just for the story, not even 7. I mean after the first attack at the party, the Brit leader could have easily shot the girl to settle things. But he goes on punishing the Bheema who was caught, which seems illogical if you think of it. Brits would have killed both girl and him back then. They often just want to kill as many people without any mercy, which is a fact. This didn't align with the genuine story. Think of Sardar Uddham, they showed they were merciless and hardly cared about kids or anyone if they wanted to shoot, they just did it. Just like Nazis. So it kind of didn't give needed liking from the start.
Second half: The issue was, there is no setup of who Ajay was in the first place or his wife or those village army people he was training, and the one who was often seen with Ram to help him with his goals to get near weapons. I mean when they introduce Ram's character, they show him fighting with so many people to get one guy. The ferocity in which it's shown to fight all there just to get that guy, he could have simply killed the brits killed as they were short numbered and got the whole people's support charging them up to revolt and seeking their help to hide his identity and later can get the weapons. Why I'm saying this is, he does the same to Bheem and that time Bhim sings and makes every people raked up. It's still the same, isn't it?
And this makes Ram believe in Bheem's ability to lead as he could be more force, while he had a similar opportunity at the start freely given. Both these two situations don't equate to the necessary logic of fighting against brits when brits were so cornered.. And both times Brit nowhere had any stronger points to create havoc and the only thing they held was the girl, whom they could have easily killed in reality.
Framing of the story: I felt they should have started with Ajay being the older guy with young son Ram both fighting and it would have helped the second half making more thrilling effect.
Overall it's a decent movie, won't say good or best, but just a one-time popcorn masala watch. Even Alia, Shreya, Ajay, and Tamil actor were so underutilized. Their existence too was pointless in a way. It could have been a best-made film if they genuinely tried to tell the real-life story of the characters even if wanted to go over the top sure like Sai Ra Narasimha Reddy's style.
But what stood out and truly helped the movie was the performance of both Jnr NTR and Ramcharan, their bromance is the only thing which saved the movie-watching experience, I feel. It's not the story, it's their acting, a few good visuals. That's it.
RRR: Naatu Naatu (2021)
Average film saved by bromance acting..
Rating is between 5 and 6. It could have been 7 but I its not that great as people claim.

Bachchhan Paandey (2022)
One of the dumbest illogical movie ever(First of all taking remake but have no idea of what makes story)
First you build a character of director who wants to make movie, sure good enough. Then she fools her own best friend Arshad Warsi, not giving the role in the script and than the whole emotions for a possible conflict is thrown away.
Then we build a story of Akshay Kumar, and even unnecessary love story, fuses story of Rangastalam movie's ending and fool him to make him be a caricature of his own personality.
And the director who makes movies, should be understanding character have no sensible understanding of how the gangster really is. Seriously!
The Kriti Senon as a Director got to be more dumb than whole people who have no ground reality situation.
They used 3 4 film's story from Tamil to Telugu's two different movies and made KACHARAA FILM.. It's seriously one of the stupiest film ever. There is seriously some problem with writer, direction.
Columbus (2015)
Utter nonsense
Who gives money to make these kinds of nonsense movies. The actor acts so immaturity even for the character as well as the character is written so junk too. .
The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun (2021)
It's good in bits and needed more
I do like Wes's movies and I think he can do more than the carefully placed stories, characters and pictures. I appreciate things which let stories have their own breathing space, let lose in its nature to feel the characters relatable and what we are watching be little less caricaturish!
