I enjoy true crime, and this show is not an exception. The content and interviews are interesting, albeit sometimes repetitive. My biggest issue, is that like once every two minutes or so, there's a black screen with important information that's just text, with no audio. So, basically, if you're on your phone, cleaning, or doing anything other than looking at the television screen constantly, you'll miss information. Why they do this, is beyond me. It doesn't add anything dramatic, it doesn't make you want to watch the show, and it is nothing but annoying. Pass this one by for the multitude of similar shows out there that don't try to force your eyes to the screen every few minutes.
I'm a Madonna fan, although not hugely so. What really makes this movie fun, is seeing Griffen Dunne in such a fun role. His character is charming, sweet, and quite sexy. Madonna is typical, not winning any awards for acting, but this movie fits her better than other roles that she had in this time period. She's playful, a little conniving, and clumsily sexy. The plot is fairly predictable, but not too dumb to enjoy. Plenty of late 80s style rounds out a generally cute movie that doesn't challenge your brain or ethics to any degree without being too ridiculous to enjoy over and over. It's no Citizen Cane, but it's not forgettable, either.
