In a movie about Lucille Ball, I expect some jokes. I didn't laugh once. The story was derivative and trite. I didn't buy Kidman as Lucille. She sounded like her sometimes but looks nothing like her. Lucy was all about facial expressions and yet Nicole Kidman cannot make them. Julianne Moore would have been better in my opinion.
Tchoupitoulas Street doesn't really even show up in the film except the foot of it by the dock and the casino. There is more history on this street than Bourbon in my opinion. The events of the film were clearly staged. I do not recommend this boring, worthless exploitation of my home town. Don't waste your time. If you want to see a documentary about New Orleans, go see Always For Pleasure.
