Je ne suis pas un homme facile (2018)
Brilliant
The movie captures the experiences of women remarkably well-perhaps occasionally exaggerated, but still relatable. One scene, in particular, stands out as universally recognizable: a sex scene. Damien hooks up with a woman, and after reaching her climax, she stops, leaving Damien behind. A striking moment that resonates deeply, encapsulating an experience nearly every woman has faced. This highlights the so-called "orgasm gap"-a phenomenon well-documented in discussions of intimacy, yet its true scale remains unclear. However, most of us suspect its magnitude is significant, perhaps overwhelmingly so.

Destroy other peoples life if yours is destroyed
The movie has its merits - clever lines and good actors, some interesting details and situations.
But it is not romantic at all, I find it rather just dark and disturbing. Keith is cruel and manipulating Nathalie, playing with her feelings and abusing her trust. He is of course not an exception, teenager universe is often made up of such patterns. But if somebody behaving like that, other party can just rebel and walk out finding self respect, try to forget it all and start from the scratch with her life. But here, due to the huge drama in the situation, Keith's illness, Nathalie can not really walk out and go on pursuing him and in the same time destroying everything in her life she was working so hard for. And at the end - driving the truck into some unknown place. Is she really following her dreams? Or due to guilt and masochism, trying to live somebody's life after he is gone?

Best Russian sci fi in the last 10 years
This Strugatsky adaptation is in my opinion is made very close to the book and showing very well the complexity of the plot and the ideas of Strugatsky. Bravo for the film director for being brave enough to do it so detailed. To better understand the movie is it the best to read the book or at least the short description of the plot. The costumes and special effects are quite qualitative and definitely can stand to the Hollywood standard. I found the movie being highly underrated and extremely enjoyable. In my opinion it deserves to be added to the classics of sci fi, even through Massaraksh universe visually reminds Blade runner universe. Inhibited island plot, as generally Strugatsky novels is complex and maybe that is the reason why the movie was not valued and understood properly. My recommendation - to watch if you like serious science fiction and want to savor a great visual spectacle. Strugatsky in my opinion is the best there is of science fiction, or one of the best and being so serious about the books I would be very critical towards bad adaptation. But this one is a real success!
That's What I Am (2011)
Inspiring and endearingly honest
The movie is about how time and opportunity helps us to define who we are. And who we become later, our ultimate destination. And how teachers, great teachers mean a lot and can show the way and recognize our potentials. Motivating and uplifting, also greatly elaborated and poetic language, which Andy is using to tell his tale. Romantic story line is also very endearing. Mary Clear is definitely a very special character in this movie, and Andy's travel through this tunnel from the boy to a man is very symbolic and exciting to watch. I really enjoyed the movie and found characters to be very realistic. Just go ahead and dream, over the limitations of your school walls, prejudices and bigots, or local bullies. Cause life is not what it seems, not what it is in those teenager years.
