I hated the characters. I didn't take sides with either of them because they were both very easy to dislike. This made the movie strange to me. In other movies, sometimes I have came across feeling sympathetic for the bad guy, or even rooting for them, but in this movie I just wanted the two leads to quit being so annoying.
Then it hit me. The reason it was so annoying is because it reminded me of personal experiences and people I interact with everyday. The movie ended up being very realistic once I gave it a chance... and I'll admit, it took me over 1.5 hours before I gave it that chance.
Once it was over, I appreciated my life. It touches on subjects that we have all faced and most of all, it touched on feelings we have all had.
As much as I hated it, I also loved it. If you like to give movies a chance and you have 2 hours of time with lots of patience, I'd recommend giving it a try.

I would have given this movie a rating of 4 out of 10, but my ex-girlfriend's brother made it and well, she's hot.
If you are thinking about seeing it, let me tell you this: I think anyone who takes the chance to watch it will probably enjoy it, simply because you'll probably get what you expect from it. Someone watching this movie and getting mad after wards because they thought it sucked is the equivalent of someone entering the Daytona 500 with a Volvo, then blaming the car that they didn't win.
I will say this for the movie, even though the acting isn't of high quality, among other things, I have found myself quoting the movie more than once or telling a friend about parts of it, despite the fact that when I first saw it I rolled me eyes and said "oh please." This movie has an aftertaste similar to drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth.

I choose The Marksman while renting at the video store because I wanted a DVD that would be entertaining to watch and not a big risk. I figured that if Snipes signed onto the movie it couldn't be that bad. I wasn't expecting a great story, but at least some good action with the occasional action movie cliché.
I think this movie must have been made as a practical joke to Wesley Snipes. They probably showed it at his birthday party. Every member of the cast overacted every scene. It was like every speaking character had their own monologue.
The special effects were comical. During a jet fight scene they show an explosion that is supposed to be one of the jets blowing up. A few seconds later when another jet supposedly explodes, it appears to be the same explosion optically reversed, right down to the last piece of debris flying through the air.
I would expect a movie to be this bad that didn't have a famous actor in the lead. But I never thought a movie with Wesley Snipes could be of this poor quality. He needs to have his head examined.
